The 49ers cut Wright from their practice squad Saturday.
Wright signed with San Francisco's practice squad Sept. 4, but his time with the unit will ultimately be cut short. He was being kept as a backup option for starting kicker Jake Moody. Wright will now be on the hunt for a new opportunity.
