Thomas Vanek: Remains unsigned; Canucks interested?

Vanek remains without an NHL contract. However, it's believed that he's being looked at by the Canucks, Sportsnet reports.

The 33-year-old has bounced around the league since his nine-year tenure with the Sabres ended via trade in 2013-14, making stops with the Islanders, Montreal, Minnesota, Detroit, and most recently, Florida. He opened up last season with the Red Wings and managed to post a solid 38 points in 48 games before being shipped to the Panthers and fizzling out to the tune of two goals and eight assists in 20 contests. Nonetheless, Vanek has some gas left in the tank to help an NHL team despite being past his prime, so it'll be interesting to see if anything materializes with Vancouver.
