Duchene lit the lamp twice and dished out an assist in a 6-5 loss to the Jets on Monday. After a disastrous start to his time in Ottawa, Duchene has adjusted and made the most out of his season. He's got an outside chance to be a 60-point player for the first time since 2014, a remarkable feat given how bleak things were at the time of his trade from Colorado.
Duchene contributed a power-play goal, two even-strength assists and six shots in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Islanders. Duchene's team didn't come out on top, but he capitalized on this favorable matchup against the league's worst defensive team for his first three-point effort since Feb. 15. He also finished with a plus-1 rating in this one, which was a welcome sight for Duchene's owners given his minus-7 mark over the previous four contests. Duchene has 95 points over the past two seasons, but his rating over that span is an atrocious minus-53.
Duchene scored a goal and picked up a helper in a 3-2 overtime win over the Stars on Friday. That marks three games in a row in which Duchene has tallied two points, and the fourth such performance in six contests. Though the Senators aren't going to sniff the playoffs, the 27-year-old seems to be enjoying his time with the team. Since being traded from the Avalanche, he has 39 points in 56 games.
Duchene registered two assists and four shots during Tuesday's 7-4 win over Tampa Bay. After a slight adjustment period to his Ottawa surroundings, Duchene has proven to be a key offensive contributor with 14 goals and 17 assists through his past 31 games. He's locked into a top scoring role and projects to continue providing solid numbers for fantasy owners. It's also worth noting that Duchene is now on track to post his highest point total since marking the scoresheet 70 times in the 2013-14 campaign.
Duchene scored two goals, including the game-winner with three minutes left in the third period, while adding four shots, one hit and a plus-1 rating in Monday's 5-3 victory over the Panthers. He now has 21 goals on the season, the sixth time in his career he's hit the 20-goal mark. It took a while, but Duchene has found his rhythm in Ottawa, scoring 10 goals and 20 points in 20 games since the beginning of February and positioning himself as the centerpiece of the Sens' offense for 2018-19.
