There’s so much going on during Masters week. Stories to follow, prop bets to weigh, photos to consume, social media to parse through, previews to read, and statistics to memorize.

We live in a world where knowledge is power but too much knowledge is crippling.

Enter: Our Guide to the 2014 Masters.

We have put together a sort of catch-all, everything-you-can-possibly-need-to-know piece here as a one-page guide for what you need to know about this year’s tournament.

We hope you enjoy.

1. Here's the field breakdown

Americans: 44
International: 53
Former champs: 19
Rookies: 24
Amateurs: 6

2. You want rankings? We have all of the rankings.

The field, from 1-97
The darkhorses
Concession stand items
Who to root for in lieu of Tiger
The chances of an Englishman winning

3. I profiled why four of the top guys can and can’t win the tournament. Here they are:

Rory McIlroy
Adam Scott
Phil Mickelson
Bubba Watson

4. Among the biggest changes to the course in 2014 is the removal of Eisenhower's tree on No. 17. Mark O'Meara thinks he led to the tree's demise (it was actually damaged in a winter ice storm):

"I’ve hit that tree so many times I put it in a weakened condition," said O'Meara. Here's a look at the last official photo of the tree.

And here's a look at the turf around the tree:

And here's an incredible look at changes to the course throughout the year. You might be on this page for hours.

5. Are you like me and have your TV, desktop, laptop, tablet, phone, radio, notebook, and multiple carrier pigeons tuned in to what’s going on in Augusta? If so, here’s a good look at how to watch everything this week.

6. Tiger Woods will not be in attendance this year for the first time since 1994 but he's still affecting the event. Here's how:

Betting on the Masters could be down 20 percent
Badges are much cheaper this year
Why his top 10 streak at majors is in jeopardy

And for fun here's a look at why Tiger getting to 19 majors is just the most ridiculous thing.

7. With Tiger Woods out, would you believe Angel Cabrera has been the best of the seven golfers who have made the cut in each of the last five years.

It's true:

The best stats about the 2014 Masters

8. Speaking of stats, here’s a great stat via Jamie Kennedy (@jamieonsport) that might help you with the wagering side of things. Over the last 25 years, the average Masters champ has been 32.4 years old, ranked No. 15 in the world, and had eight previous outings.

Throw in the fact that all but one champ in the last 10 years has had 17 or more majors worth of experience and we can start specifying some potential winners.

Golfers like Brandt Snedeker (age 33, ranked No. 19, six outings), Sergio Garcia (age 34, ranked No. 6, 15 outings), and Graeme McDowell (age 34, ranked No. 14, six outings)

9. If you’re going to the tournament can I give you a quick "what to buy at the merchandise tent" power rankings?

1. Hats: Great prices and you can never have too many.

2. Pullovers: I’m wearing one of my three right now, actually. You’ll spend a little but the mileage on these babies is just incredible.

3. Coffee mugs: Nothing says “I do awesome stuff” more than sipping you coffee out of a green mug with the Masters insignia on the side.

4. Polos: Like hats in that the prices are comparable to anywhere else and they’re so sharp.

5. Yellow flag for autographs: I don’t do autographs but it’s a great look for the home office. So iconic.

6. Vintage posters: Not sure if they still have them but they used to make these vintage-looking prints that were replicas of the programs from the 1930s Masters Tournaments. I have a pair of them.

I asked a saleslady at the 2011 Masters what the most she’d ever seen anyone spend at the merchandise tent was and she kind of stared at me and said "I already saw somebody drop $8,000 this morning."

It was 10 AM.

10. Want to know what kind of gear everybody will be sporting at the tournament this year? Here's a look:

What Tiger was going to wear
Bubba Watson and Zach Johnson

Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, and Sergio Garcia
Rory McIlroy
Jordan Spieth
Rickie Fowler
Webb Simpson

11. This Masters trivia quiz is quite awesome, and difficult. I scored a 61, does that disqualify me from this position? I hope not.

12. What’s your favorite hole? Mine are Nos. 2 and 10. Here’s a full look at my favorites on the first nine and second nine.

First nine
Second nine

13. There are somewhere near a billion people to follow on Twitter for events like these but I made a post with some of my favorites here.

Who to follow during the Masters

As an aside: Can you imagine if Twitter was around when Dan Jenkins was in his prime? It feels like he would have single-handedly gotten it banned by the good folks in green jackets. His stuff about Sergio is the height of sports comedy.

14. My picks. For giggles.
