Bartolo Colon loses Mets debut despite quality start

Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon lost his regular-season debut Wednesday, giving up three earned runs on nine hits, including two home runs, while striking out four in six innings in his team's 5-1 loss to the Nationals.

Colon struck out just four batters all spring while posting a 5.28 ERA in 15 1/3 innings, so Wednesday's debut looks like a solid step forward. He'll hit the road to take on the Braves Tuesday.
