Chargers tight end Antonio Gates caught all three of his targets for 42 yards on his team's opening drive Week 17. He was not heard from after that as Philip Rivers looked elsewhere.
Gates used a vicious stiff-arm following his first reception, gaining 16 yards. Then he hauled in a 13-yarder over the middle. Gates' next 13-yard gain took San Diego inside the Oakland 10, but he did not get another pass thrown his way.
Gates has not surpassed 50 yards or caught a touchdown since Week 11. He'll play the Chiefs in the regular-season finale.
