  • Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Massive numbers after slow start

Smith-Njigba brought in 12 of 16 targets for 134 yards in the Seahawks' 17-14 overtime loss to the Broncos on Thursday.

Despite the Broncos being down Pat Surtain (ankle) and Talanoa Hufanga (ankle), Smith-Njigba and the Seahawks' air attack as a whole couldn't get much going through the first half-plus of play. The All-Pro receiver turned it on in the latter portion of the contest, however, and he ultimately finished with season highs in receptions and targets, along with his second-highest amount of receiving yards. JSN already has five 100-yard efforts in his first six games of the season, and his tendency to dominate Sam Darnold's attention will once again make him an elite option in all formats during a Week 7 Sunday night home showdown against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on Oct. 25.

  • Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: In clear for Week 6

Smith-Njigba (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday and doesn't have a designation for Thursday's game in Denver, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.

The Seahawks listed Smith-Njigba as limited on practice estimates Monday and Tuesday due to an ankle issue, but it didn't hold him back Wednesday, and he thus is in the clear for Week 6 action. He'll be looking to build upon the massive 37-583-7 line on 50 targets that he's amassed through five contests to start the campaign.

  • Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Listed as limited again

Smith-Njigba (ankle) was listed as a limited participant on Tuesday's estimated practice report, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.

The Seahawks did not practice Tuesday for a second straight day, and as was the case Monday, Smith-Njigba was estimated as a limited participant. He will have one more day to clear the injury report before Seattle officially reveals his status for Thursday's game against the Broncos.

  • Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Limited on first Week 6 report

Smith-Njigba was estimated as a limited practice participant Monday due to an ankle injury, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Per Gregg Bell of Sports Radio 93.3 KJR Seattle, Smith-Njigba appeared to get dinged up on a 16-yard lateral run early in the second quarter of Sunday's 32-29 loss to the 49ers. The injury didn't end up costing the star wideout any significant playing time, but it could result in his practice activity being monitored closely in Week 6 while the Seahawks face a quick turnaround with a Thursday game versus the Broncos. At this stage of the week, the expectation is that Smith-Njigba will be able to play without any restrictions.

  • Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Brilliant again except for late drop

Smith-Njigba caught five of eight targets for 102 yards and a touchdown while adding a 16-yard rush in Sunday's 32-29 loss to the 49ers.

Smith-Njigba topped 100 receiving yards for the fourth time in five games and scored his seventh touchdown of the season on a 16-yard catch in the third quarter, but his heroics weren't enough as the Seahawks fell to 3-2. Seattle's four turnovers bear most of the blame for the loss, though JSN had an uncharacteristic drop on the Seahawks' penultimate offensive play, which would have put Seattle in position for a game-tying field goal had he caught it. Smith-Njigba will have a short turnaround before Thursday's home game against the Broncos, in which the star receiver will have a chance to add to his season total of 583 receiving yards.

  • Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Notches 76 receiving yards

Smith-Njigba gathered in five of six targets for 76 yards during Sunday's 30-23 win against the Chargers.

Smith-Njigba's 27-405-6 line on 36 targets through three games to kick off the campaign perhaps wasn't sustainable, but his Week 4 performance was nothing to sniff at considering he paced the Seahawks in targets among QB Sam Darnold's 22 pass attempts. Smith-Njigba put up at least as many receiving yards in 15 of his 17 regular-season appearances in 2025 as he did Sunday, so a bounceback seems likely when he next takes the field next Sunday versus the 49ers.
