  • Sabres' Carson Meyer: Placed on waivers

Meyer was placed on waivers by the Sabres on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Meyer underwent surgery to repair an ACL injury in March, and he spent the first month of the regular season on injured reserve while he recovered. However, his placement on waivers Monday suggests that he's healthy and will head to AHL Rochester if he clears. He made 29 regular-season appearances for AHL Rochester last year, recording nine goals, 12 assists, 20 PIM and a minus-7 rating.

  • Sabres' Carson Meyer: Set to miss time

Meyer (knee) was put on injured reserve Monday. Meyer was one of five players that the Sabres placed on injured reserve Monday. The 28-year-old last appeared in the NHL with Columbus during the 2023-24 campaign, and he'll likely head to AHL Rochester once he moves past his injury. Meyer registered nine goals, 21 points and a minus-7 rating over 29 appearances with AHL San Diego in 2024-25.

  • Sabres' Carson Meyer: Secures deal with Buffalo

Meyer (knee) signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Sabres on Tuesday, per PuckPedia. Meyer sustained an ACL injury that required surgery in March. • Ducks' Carson Meyer: Done for season

Meyer (knee) is out for the rest of the season after undergoing ACL surgery earlier this week. Meyer has 41 NHL games to his name, but didn't get to that level with the Ducks this season. He finishes the campaign with 21 points over 29 appearances for AHL San Diego. He will be a free agent this summer, but his market is likely to be limited to two-way contracts while he works his way back from surgery.

  • Ducks' Carson Meyer: Hits waiver wire

Meyer was placed on waivers Tuesday with the intent to assign him to AHL San Diego. Meyer notched 22 goals and 37 points over 55 regular-season contests for AHL Cleveland in 2023-24. He added one goal and one assist in 14 NHL outings with Columbus during the 2023-24 campaign. If he doesn't get claimed by another team, Meyer could be a call-up option for the Ducks this season, though he may spend most of the year in the minors.

  • Ducks' Carson Meyer: Inks two-way contract

Meyer (upper body) signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Ducks on Wednesday. Meyer had a goal and an assist in 14 contests with Columbus in 2023-24. He also recorded 22 goals and 37 points across 55 regular-season outings with AHL Cleveland. Meyer sustained an injury April 9 that prevented him from participating in Cleveland's playoff run. Assuming the 26-year-old is healthy, he'll likely start next season in the minors, but he has a real shot of getting promoted at various points during the campaign as an injury replacement.

  • Blue Jackets' Carson Meyer: Likely done for season

Meyer (upper body) is considered week-to-week after leaving Tuesday's game versus the Lightning with the injury, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports. It's all but official that Meyer will be done for the remainder of the NHL campaign. Given that it's likely AHL Cleveland makes the Calder Cup Playoffs, Meyer may still get into some postseason action with the minor-league team, should he be able to get healthy before the Monsters are eliminated.

  • Blue Jackets' Carson Meyer: Assigned to AHL

Meyer was assigned to AHL Cleveland on Wednesday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. The 25-year-old made a strong push for a roster spot in Columbus during camp, but Meyer ultimately fell victim to a numbers game on the wing and to the fact that he didn't need to be exposed on waivers to be sent down. "This guy's done nothing but do exactly what you want a pro to do," coach Bad Larsen said Wednesday. "The difference I see in him, last year to this year, is that last year I don't know if he believed in himself. I think he was working hard and he was in the NHL. This year, I think he's starting to understand, 'I belong here. I can do this now.' " Expect Meyer to be among the first players called up when injuries hit the Jackets' forward ranks.

Meyer signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Blue Jackets on Saturday. Meyer spent most of the 2021-22 season in the minors, collecting 16 goals and 27 points through 57 games with AHL Cleveland, but he also drew into 13 games with the big club, picking up three points over that span. The 24-year-old winger may have a slightly larger role with the Blue Jackets in 2022-23, but don't count on him developing into a viable fantasy option.

  • Blue Jackets' Carson Meyer: Pots first NHL goal

Meyer scored his first NHL goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Flyers. Meyer produced a pair of career firsts in short succession early in his second career NHL game. The 24-year-old winger notched his first career point by assisting on Brendan Gaunce's goal just 2:38 in, then one-upped that accomplishment by lighting the lamp himself a little more than 10 minutes later. Meyer had 16 goals in 56 games with AHL Cleveland prior to being promoted for the stretch run, so while he has some scoring touch, Meyer's probably not a guy you should be targeting on waivers at this point.
