Meyer (oblique) was activated from injured reserve and sent to AHL Cleveland on Monday. Meyer, who has missed the past 20 contests, will get to see some game action with Columbus' top minor-league affiliate. In 13 NHL appearances this season, he has been credited with 16 shots on goal, six blocks and 22 hits.... See More ... See Less

Blue Jackets' Carson Meyer: Out 6-to-8 weeks
Meyer was placed on the injured reserve list with an oblique strain Wednesday. Meyer is expected to be unavailable for six-to-eight weeks after sustaining the injury during Tuesday's contest against Tampa Bay. He has no points, 22 hits and six blocks in 13 games this season while averaging 9:34 of ice time. Trey Fix-Wolansky was summoned in a corresponding move and he might take Meyer's spot in the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Carson Meyer: Won't return to game
Meyer (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Lightning. Meyer was injured in the second period. He appeared to be in some distress on his last shift just before the Lightning scored. It's another injury on a long list of them for the Blue Jackets -- if he can't play Thursday versus the Hurricanes, the team may need to call up a forward.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Carson Meyer: Makes season debut
Meyer registered one shot and a minus-1 rating during Friday's 3-2 loss to the visiting Islanders. Meyer received a team-low 7:16 of ice time during his first NHL game since the end of last season. The 2017 sixth-round draft pick opened Friday on the third line with Yegor Chinakhov and Cole Sillinger. Meyer collected one goal and two assists during a 13-game audition last season.... Blue Jackets' Carson Meyer: Up with big club
Meyer was recalled from AHL Cleveland on Thursday. Meyer was recalled when the Blue Jackets decided to send Emil Bemstrom to the minors. Meyer is having a big season in the AHL, scoring six goals and adding 12 assists in just 15 games.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Carson Meyer: Assigned to AHL
Meyer was assigned to AHL Cleveland on Wednesday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. The 25-year-old made a strong push for a roster spot in Columbus during camp, but Meyer ultimately fell victim to a numbers game on the wing and to the fact that he didn't need to be exposed on waivers to be sent down. "This guy's done nothing but do exactly what you want a pro to do," coach Bad Larsen said Wednesday. "The difference I see in him, last year to this year, is that last year I don't know if he believed in himself. I think he was working hard and he was in the NHL. This year, I think he's starting to understand, 'I belong here. I can do this now.' " Expect Meyer to be among the first players called up when injuries hit the Jackets' forward ranks.... Blue Jackets' Carson Meyer: Signs two-way deal
Meyer signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Blue Jackets on Saturday. Meyer spent most of the 2021-22 season in the minors, collecting 16 goals and 27 points through 57 games with AHL Cleveland, but he also drew into 13 games with the big club, picking up three points over that span. The 24-year-old winger may have a slightly larger role with the Blue Jackets in 2022-23, but don't count on him developing into a viable fantasy option.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Carson Meyer: Pots first NHL goal
Meyer scored his first NHL goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Flyers. Meyer produced a pair of career firsts in short succession early in his second career NHL game. The 24-year-old winger notched his first career point by assisting on Brendan Gaunce's goal just 2:38 in, then one-upped that accomplishment by lighting the lamp himself a little more than 10 minutes later. Meyer had 16 goals in 56 games with AHL Cleveland prior to being promoted for the stretch run, so while he has some scoring touch, Meyer's probably not a guy you should be targeting on waivers at this point....
