Blue Jays' Marco Estrada: Makes first spring start
Estrada (back) pitched 2.1 innings, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk while failing to record a strikeout in Saturday's exhibition game against the Phillies.
It was Estrada's second Grapefruit League appearance this spring, but his first start. The veteran was cruising -- allowing just one walk through the first eight batters he faced -- before giving up back-to-back doubles that ended his afternoon. "I'm really pleased with the way my body is feeling out there," Estrada said. "Things are still off, which they're expected to be. The more I get out there, the more comfortable I'll be, and basically that's what I'm trying to get at." Estrada decided to pass on playing for Team Mexico in the WBC so that he can work toward getting his back fully recovered from a nagging injury he suffered last season.
