Mariners' Boog Powell: Returns to minors

Powell was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday.

Powell was shipped back to Triple-A to make room on the active roster for Mitch Haniger (oblique), who was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move following a six-week absence. During his latest stint with the Mariners, Powell appeared in 17 games and logged five hits in 24 at-bats.
