Tigers' Jeff Ferrell: DFA'd Tuesday

Ferrell was designated for assignment Tuesday.

In order to make room on the 40-man roster for Donn Roache, who was claimed off waivers Tuesday, the Tigers designated for assignment the contract of Jeff Ferrell. Ferrell has posted a 7.36 ERA and 2.54 WHIP over 7.1 innings for Detroit's Triple-A affiliate and will likely remain there unless he gets picked up by another club now that he's on waivers.
