The Buccaneers and Brate agreed Wednesday to restructure his contract to a two-year, $8 million deal, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

The six-year contract that Brate signed in 2018 locked him in with Tampa Bay through the 2023 season, but the restructure lowers the cap hits in both of the next two years. The statuses of Rob Gronkowski and/or O.J. Howard remain in flux with both free agents this offseason, but at the very least, the newly un-retired Tom Brady has Brate at his disposal at tight end in 2022.
