  • Senators' Jake Sanderson: Ruled out for Game 4

Sanderson has been ruled out for Saturday's Game 4 against the Hurricanes due to a concussion, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

Sanderson exited Thursday's Game 3 against the Hurricanes due to an apparent head injury, and he'll be unavailable for at least one additional matchup after being diagnosed with a concussion. Head coach Travis Green said Friday that Sanderson is "not doing well," so it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return later in the Senators' first-round series if the team wins Saturday.

  • Wild's Mats Zuccarello: Game-time decision for Saturday

Zuccarello (upper body) will be a game-time call for Game 4 versus Dallas on Saturday, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.

Zuccarello skated prior to Friday's morning practice after missing Games 2 and 3. The diminutive winger had three helpers in the Wild's lone win in Game 1. He managed 15 goals and 54 points across 59 regular-season games in 2025-26. Look for Zuccarello to replace Bobby Brink on the top line, if he returns to the lineup Saturday.

  • Yakov Trenin C | MIN

Wild's Yakov Trenin: Ruled out for Game 4

Trenin (upper body) has been ruled out for Saturday's Game 4 against the Stars, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.

Trenin suffered his upper-body injury during Monday's Game 2, and he'll be unavailable for a second consecutive matchup Saturday. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return to action, but his next opportunity to do so will be in Game 5 on Tuesday.

  • Dan Vladar G | PHI

Flyers' Dan Vladar: Game-time call for Saturday

Vladar (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision versus Pittsburgh on Saturday, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.

Vladar has not practiced the last two days after stopping 28 shots in a 5-2 win over Pittsburgh on Wednesday, giving Philadelphia a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Vladar has been outstanding in the series, posting a 1.33 GAA and a .946 save percentage. He was 29-14-7 with a 2.42 GAA and a .906 save percentage across 52 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. Should Vladar sit out Saturday, look for Samuel Ersson to get the start in goal.

  • Lightning's Charle-Edouard D'Astous: Won't play in Game 3

D'Astous (undisclosed) won't play in Friday's Game 3 against the Canadiens, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

D'Astous exited Sunday's Game 1 against Montreal and was unavailable for Game 2 on Tuesday. Although he traveled with the team ahead of Game 3, he remained on the ice following Friday's morning skate, indicating that he'll miss a second consecutive matchup. His next opportunity to suit up will be in Game 4 on Sunday, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to do so.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Rattled by Sabres in Game 3

Swayman stopped 25 of 27 shots Thursday during the Bruins' 3-1 loss to the Sabress in Game 3 of their first-round series. Buffalo's final goal was scored into an empty net.

Boston grabbed a 1-0 lead early in the second period, but Swayman couldn't make it stick as his offensive support dried up. The 27-year-old netminder has given up seven goals on 99 shots (.929 save percentage) through the first three games of the season but has just one win to show for it, and Swayman and the Bruins will look to even things up again in Game 4 on Sunday.

  • Noah Ostlund C | BUF

Sabres' Noah Ostlund: Two points in Game 3 return

Ostlund scored a goal and added an assist Thursday during the Sabres' 3-1 win over the Bruins in Game 3 of their first-round series.

The rookie center had a hand in a Bowen Byram tally that got Buffalo on the board midway through the second period, before Ostlund hustled for an empty-netter late in the third. Ostlund had been sidelined since March 25 due to an upper-body injury, missing the Sabres' last 12 games, but he made an immediate impact in his return after producing 11 goals and 27 points in 60 regular-season contests.

  • Bowen Byram D | BUF

Sabres' Bowen Byram: Two-point effort in win Thursday

Byram produced a goal and an assist Thursday during the Sabres' 3-1 win over the Bruins in Game 3 of their first-round series.

The 24-year-old blueliner got Buffalo on the board midway through the second period before helping to set up Alex Tuch's game-winner early in the third. Byram delivered a career-high 11 goals and 42 points over 82 games during the regular season, and he's stepped up his output to begin the playoffs with two goals and three points in three contests.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Sharp in Game 3 start

Lyon made 24 saves Thursday during the Sabres' 3-1 win over the Bruins in Game 3 of their first-round series.

A Tanner Jeannot tally early in the second period spoiled his shutout bid, but Lyon still delivered a strong performance in his first start of the postseason, including a denial on a Viktor Arvidsson penalty shot while the Sabres were still down 1-0. The 33-year-old netminder appears to be coach Lindy Ruff's top choice between the pipes after Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen gave up seven goals on 40 shots (.825 save percentage) over the first two games of the series, positioning Lyon to get the nod again in Game 4 on Sunday.

  • Eric Robinson LW | CAR

Hurricanes' Eric Robinson: Picks up helper in win

Robinson notched an assist and two hits in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Senators in Game 3.

Robinson has played in all three playoff games so far, though he could get swapped out for Nicolas Deslauriers if the Hurricanes want more toughness later on. This helper ended a 13-game point drought for Robinson. The winger picked up 18 points, 84 shots on net, 90 hits and a plus-7 rating over 67 regular-season contests. He's in his third career playoff run, having collected just four points across 25 games over the previous two postseasons he participated in.
