Jonas Siegenthaler D | NJ
Devils' Jonas Siegenthaler: Two helpers over last three outings
Siegenthaler notched an assist in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes.
Siegenthaler has two helpers over his last three games. Prior to that, he had gone 27 contests without a point despite occupying a steady top-four role for the Devils this season. He's more of a shutdown blueliner, so a long drought isn't too surprising. The 28-year-old is now at four assists, 36 shots on net, 61 hits, 70 blocked shots, 29 PIM and a minus-6 rating over 42 appearances.

Dawson Mercer C | NJ
Devils' Dawson Mercer: Deposits lone goal in loss
Mercer scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes.
Mercer ended his 16-game goal drought with a first-period tally. During that stretch, he was limited to five assists, 34 shots on net and a plus-1 rating. The 24-year-old has been playing center on the second line for the last few games while Jack Hughes works on the wing with Nico Hischier centering the top line. Even with the recent slump, Mercer's at 11 goals and 26 points through 42 outings this season, putting him on pace to top the 50-point mark for the second time in his career.

Jake Allen G | NJ
Devils' Jake Allen: Yields three goals in loss
Allen stopped 26 of 29 shots in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes.
Allen gave up a goal in each period, and the Devils couldn't keep pace with the Hurricanes' offense. This was Allen's third defeat in his last four games (1-2-1), but he's allowed a modest 11 goals on 121 shots in that span. For the season, the 35-year-old is at an 11-9-1 record with a 2.55 GAA and a .913 save percentage. Allen and Jacob Markstrom have been alternating starts since mid-December, and if that pattern holds, Markstrom will go Tuesday versus the Islanders while Allen would get Thursday's game versus the Penguins.

Logan Stankoven C | CAR
Hurricanes' Logan Stankoven: Lights lamp in Sunday's win
Stankoven scored a goal on four shots and added four PIM in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Devils.
Stankoven had gone 11 games without a goal, picking up three assists in that span. The 22-year-old had the last tally in Sunday's contest to snap the drought. For the season, he's up to seven goals, 18 points, 89 shots on net, 23 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 42 appearances. He remains in a middle-six role, but he hasn't been able to improve his offense from his totals of 14 goals and 24 assists over 78 regular-season outings in 2024-25.

Nikolaj Ehlers LW | CAR
Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Keeps rolling with early goal
Ehlers scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Devils.
Ehlers has scored in three straight games and has seven points over his last five contests. His goal Sunday came early, as he beat Jake Allen just 51 seconds into the game. Ehlers is up to 11 goals, 31 points, 101 shots on net and a plus-4 rating through 42 appearances. After a slow start, he's back on pace to earn a third straight 60-point campaign.

Taylor Hall LW | CAR
Hurricanes' Taylor Hall: Pair of points Sunday
Hall scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Devils.
Hall's second-period tally was the game-winner, and he also set up a Logan Stankoven goal in the third. The 34-year-old Hall has been shuffled up into a top-six role lately, and he's responded with three points over his last two contests two end an eight-game slump. He's up to eight goals, 20 points, 68 shots on net, 24 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 42 outings this season.

Brandon Bussi G | CAR
Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Bounces back versus Devils
Bussi stopped 28 of 29 shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Devils.
Bussi lost his last outing Thursday versus the Canadiens, giving up six goals on 22 shots. The 27-year-old bounced back, which is an encouraging sign for both Bussi and the Hurricanes, as they will need him at his best now that Pyotr Kochetkov (hip) is likely lost for the year. Bussi is up to 14-2-1 with a 2.25 GAA and a .906 save percentage through 17 outings. The Hurricanes' next game is a tough matchup Tuesday at home versus the Stars.

Cole Reinhardt LW | LV
Golden Knights' Cole Reinhardt: Playing time fading
Reinhardt was in the lineup and logged five hits in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.
Prior to Sunday, Reinhardt had been scratched in five straight games. His point drought is now at 10 contests, and that means his place in the lineup is far from secure. Rookie Braeden Bowman sat out Sunday for the first time in his NHL career, but Bowman has far more scoring upside than Reinhardt, who is at four points, 17 shots on net and 51 hits over 27 appearances this season.
-
Jack Eichel C | LV
Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: First point since return
Eichel notched an assist and went minus-2 in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.
This was Eichel's second game back after missing seven due to a lower-body injury. He's resumed his usual top-line role, so the offense shouldn't take long to pick up, though the Golden Knights are on a five-game losing streak. Eichel has been strong this season with 42 points (12 goals, 30 helpers), 121 shots on net and a plus-2 rating over 33 appearances.

Brandon Saad LW | LV
Golden Knights' Brandon Saad: Finds twine Sunday
Saad scored a goal in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.
Saad has just two goals this season, and they've both come against teams he's previously played for (the Blackhawks on Sunday and the Blues on Nov. 15). Other that that, the 33-year-old winger has done little with a bottom-six role and minimal power-play usage. He's at a mere six points with 62 shots on net, 17 blocked shots, 14 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 37 appearances.
