Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Sharp in Monday's win
Vasilevskiy made 13 saves in Monday's 4-1 win over the Flyers.
The Lightning out-shot the visitors 36-14 on the night, and the one puck that did get past Vasilevskiy was something of a fluke -- Tyson Foerster floated a shot through traffic that would have gone wide of the net had it not deflected off Charle-Edouard D'Astous as he battled with Porter Martone at the edge of the crease. Vasilevskiy was beaten four times in an Opening Night loss to the Rangers, but since then he's been locked in, winning two straight starts while allowing two goals on 35 shots.

Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Leads Lightning onto ice
Vasilevskiy will defend the home crease in Monday's clash against the Flyers, per Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site.
After losing on Opening Night to the Rangers, Vasilevskiy bounced back in his most recent outing, which was a 20-save effort in Saturday's 3-1 win over Washington. The 32-year-old netminder currently holds a 1-1-0 record, a 2.59 GAA and an .889 save percentage across 45 shots on net between his two outings. However, the reigning Vezina Trophy winner has a favorable matchup Monday against the Flyers, who have lost all three of their games to begin the year. Vasilevskiy is poised to be an elite fantasy option Monday and beyond.

Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Team provides no support in loss
Vasilevskiy made 20 saves Thursday in a 5-1 loss to the Rangers. He allowed four goals.
This was not on Vasilevskiy. The Lightning offense was moribund, especially in the third frame when they managed just six shots despite being on the power play for close to seven minutes. Vasilevskiy is all-world, but he can't win without a little help from his team.

Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Set for Opening Night start
Vasilevskiy will defend the road crease in Thursday's Opening Night matchup against the Rangers, per Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press.
To no surprise, the reigning Vezina Trophy winner will lead the Lightning onto the ice in Thursday's opener. Vasilevskiy was truly elite in 2025-26, where he compiled a 39-15-4 record, a 2.31 GAA and a .911 save percentage across 58 regular-season outings. While asking him to repeat his numbers from a season ago would be a tall task, the team's defensive unit stayed strong with the addition of John Carlson. Vasilevskiy is the top goaltender to have rostered in fantasy hockey to open the 2026-27 season, and he'll have a favorable matchup Thursday against the Rangers, who were shut out by Boston on Tuesday.

Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Struggles in Thursday's outing
Vasilevskiy stopped 20 of 24 shots in Thursday's 5-3 preseason loss to the Panthers. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
This was more about routine than results, but it's not great the Vasilevskiy struggled against what was essentially the AHL Charlotte roster. Vasilevskiy allowed five goals on 37 shots over his two preseason outings. We'll next see him between the pipes when the Lightning open their regular season next Thursday at Madison Square Garden against the Rangers.

Vasilevskiy will start Thursday's home game against the Panthers, per Gabby Shirley.
Vasilevskiy started off the 2026-27 preseason on the right foot in an outing where he allowed just one goal on 13 shot attempts. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner was a force last season, compiling a 39-15-4 record, a 2.31 GAA and a .911 save percentage across 58 regular-season outings. Thursday's preseason outing will likely be Vasilevskiy's final or penultimate tune-up game before he looks to dominate once again in the regular season.

Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Effective in preseason debut
Vasilevskiy turned aside 12 of 13 shots during Sunday's preseason win over Nashville.
Vasilevskiy played the entire game during his start in Sunday's preseason opener. Although he didn't face many shots, he was sharp during his first preseason tune-up. The 32-year-old has established himself as one of the league's top netminders, most recently going 39-15-4 with a 2.31 GAA and .911 save percentage across 58 regular-season appearances last year. He should continue to serve as the Lightning's clear No. 1 option in the crease during the 2026-27 campaign.

Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Good with shortened preseason
Vasilevskiy doesn't believe the shortened training camp will impact his readiness for the 2026-27 campaign, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports Wednesday.
The NHL has reduced the number of preseason games each team plays to four to accommodate the increase in regular-season tilts from 82 to 84. The Lightning will naturally lean heavily on Vasilevskiy as they always do when he's healthy, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him reach 60 regular-season starts for the fifth time in his career. He fell just short of that mark in the 2025-26 regular season, posting a 39-15-4 record, 2.31 GAA and .911 save percentage in 58 appearances.

Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Season ends with brutal loss
Vasilevskiy stopped just seven of nine shots in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Canadiens in Game 7.
Tampa Bay dominated play and out-shot Montreal 29-9 in the game, but Vasilevskiy got beat twice on shots he had almost no chance at -- one a Nick Suzuki redirection in the first period, and the second in the final frame when Alex Newhook batted the puck out of midair on his backhand from an almost impossible angle and had it deflect home off the netminder's leg. Vasilevskiy will head home and await the results of the Vezina voting after posting a 2.18 GAA and .897 save percentage over seven playoff games, following a regular season in which he had a 39-15-4 record with a 2.31 GAA and .911 save percentage over 58 outings.

Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Stands on head to force Game 7
Vasilevskiy made 30 saves Friday in the Lightning's 1-0 overtime win over the Canadiens in Game 6 of their first-round series.
The Vezina Trophy finalist simply refused to let Tampa Bay's season end, producing his eighth career playoff shutout and first of this postseason in a dazzling performance. Through six games in the series against the Habs -- four of which have gone to overtime -- Vasilevskiy sports a 2.20 GAA and .905 save percentage, and he may need to come up big again in Game 7 on Sunday if the Bolts are going to get through to the second round.
