Padres starting pitcher Andrew Cashner threw his fifth straight quality start in Sunday's game against the Marlins but did not factor into the decision in the 6-2 loss. He allowed just two earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three and also bunted for a base hit in the game, raising his batting average to .292.

Cashner is just 1-0 in his last five starts despite the quality-start streak. He takes a 5-3 record and 3.31 ERA into Friday's matchup against the Nationals.
