Blue Jays infielder Edwin Encarnacion homered for the third consecutive game Thursday night against the Yankees.

Encarnacion took starter Hiroki Kuroda deep for a two-run shot in the opening frame. It was his only hit of the night as he finished 1 for 4 with a run scored and two RBI in a 5-3 defeat.

Encarnacion has gone 3 for 10 with three walks, three home runs, three runs scored and six RBI in his last three games. He is hitting .212/.309/.412 with five home runs and 14 RBI in 85 at-bats.
