Nationals right fielder Jayson Werth is due to have an MRI on his ankle injury, suffered after fouling a foul ball off his foot Monday night. Werth is also dealing with a sore hamstring.
"A bad bruise on the ankle is something that probably won't get much worse," manager Davey Johnson told Comcast Sportsnet. "It's probably hard to run, probably hard to land on. But a tight hamstring, you can pull it. You can be out for a couple weeks. And that's something I don't want to take a chance on."
Werth has hit .265/.314/.408 with four home runs in 105 plate appearances this season.
