Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth, who was scratched from Monday's start against Atlanta due to a groin strain suffered over the weekend, did see a pinch-hit at-bat in the game.
Werth struck out in his only appearance and did not return to play the field. He is considered day to day after getting scratched.
Werth was named NL player of the month for July Monday. Werth hit .367 with seven home runs and 22 RBI in 27 July games.
