Lions' Frank Ragnow: Moved back to reserve/retired list
The Lions placed Ragnow (hamstring) on the reserve/retired list Monday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Ragnow came out retirement Wednesday in an attempt to bolster the Lions' offensive line, but that comeback was short-lived after he failed his physical due to a Grade 3 hamstring strain. He has been placed back on the reserve/retired list, and it remains to be seen whether the 29-year-old will attempt to come out of retirement again going into the 2026 season. Graham Glasgow (knee) will remain as Detroit's starting center while Trystan Colon serves as the backup.

Lions' Frank Ragnow: Fails physical, won't play in 2025
The Lions announced Saturday that Ragnow failed his physical due to a Grade 3 hamstring strain, which will keep the 29-year-old sidelined for the 2025 season.
The 2018 first-rounder came out of retirement Wednesday, and despite signs pointing to him being available as soon as Week 15 against the Rams, his physical came back with the diagnosis of a severe hamstring strain. Head coach Dan Campbell relayed to reporters Saturday that Ragnow disclosed to the team that he was dealing with a hamstring injury, but neither party knew its severity until the physical, per Colton Pouncy of The Athletic. With Ragnow out of the picture, Graham Glasgow (knee) will remain as the Lions' starting center while Trystan Colon -- who started against the Packers on Thursday -- serves as the backup.

Lions' Frank Ragnow: Coming out of retirement
The Lions reinstated Ragnow (undisclosed) from the reserve/retired list Wednesday.
Ragnow announced his retirement from the NFL during the offseason, and despite him missing training camp, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relays that the veteran center is "in shape and ready to roll sooner, rather than later." Ragnow has since been placed on the exempt/commissioner permission list, and while he's eligible to play in Week 14 against the Cowboys, it's more likely that he'd play in Week 15 against the Rams on Sunday, Dec. 14, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Once he's cleared to play, Ragnow could reclaim his starting spot at center from Graham Glasgow (knee).
