Packers' Josh Whyle: Sees more snaps after Kraft injury
Whyle logged five catches (on six targets) for 36 yards and a touchdown across eight regular-season games with the Packers in 2025.
Whyle spent the first half of the season on the Packers' practice squad after failing to make the Titans' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. There wasn't a path to playing time for the third-year tight end until Tucker Kraft tore his ACL in Week 9 against the Panthers, which prompted the Packers to sign Whyle to the active roster in early November to serve as the team's TE2 behind Luke Musgrave. Whyle didn't see more than one target in any of his eight regular-season appearances, serving mostly as a blocker on offense. He will have the ability to test the waters during the 2026 offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

Packers' Josh Whyle: All set for Week 17
Whyle (concussion) has no injury designation for Saturday's contest against the Ravens, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official website reports.
Whyle will make his return to action after missing one contest while recovering from a concussion. The 26-year-old will be back in his timeshare at tight end with Luke Musgrave versus Baltimore.

The third-year tight end missed this past Saturday's overtime loss to Chicago due to the concussion he suffered Week 15 versus Denver, but he seems to have a chance of returning for Saturday's game against Baltimore, though he'll first need to clear concussion protocol. Whyle (concussion) will be a limited participant in Tuesday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Whyle missed the Packers' Week 16 overtime loss to the Bears due to the concussion he sustained in the Week 15 loss to the Broncos. The tight end's potential return for Week 17 comes at a perfect time, as Tucker Kraft (ACL) and John FitzPatrick (Achilles) both have suffered season-ending injuries, leaving Luke Musgrave as the sole healthy tight end on the 53-man roster. If Whyle can clear the league's concussion protocol in time for Saturday's game against the Ravens, he will likely have a spot as the tight end No. 2, set to contribute in both the passing game as a receiver and the run game as a blocker.

Whyle appeared in only his second game as a Packer, playing roughly four times as many snaps as he did in his Week 10 debut while also finding the end zone for the first time. Whyle had several semi-productive appearances with the Titans last season, and the Packers appear to be evaluating their options at the tight-end position with Tucker Kraft (knee) out for the season, so Whyle is now at least back on the fringes of the fantasy radar.
