Ravens' Tyler Huntley: Appears primed for Week 5 start
Huntley took the reps with the first-team offense Wednesday and could be trending toward the start Sunday against the Falcons with Lamar Jackson (ankle) appearing unlikely to play, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official site reports.
After Jackson sustained a left ankle sprain late in the second quarter of this past Sunday's 24-18 win over the Titans, Huntley directed the offense for the entire second half, finishing with eight completions on nine attempts for 63 yards while adding 16 yards on four carries. While the Ravens haven't officially ruled Jackson out from playing against the Falcons, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relayed Tuesday that the two-time MVP has "only an outside chance" of suiting up this weekend. Jackson's absence from practice Wednesday is another strong sign that Huntley will be called upon to make the Week 5 start.

Ravens' Tyler Huntley: Needed in relief in Week 4
Huntley completed eight of nine passes for 63 yards while adding 16 yards on four carries in Sunday's 24-18 win over the Titans.
Lamar Jackson was knocked out of the game with an ankle injury on the Raven's final offensive play of the first half, putting Huntley under center for the final two quarters to protect a 24-7 lead. Given the circumstances, the veteran backup wasn't asked to do too much, but he was efficient when called upon to air it out and didn't commit any turnovers. Jackson was seen in a walking boot after the game, but per Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, coach Jesse Minter isn't overly concerned about the issue and might have considered putting him back in had the score been closer. If Jackson isn't cleared to suit up in Week 5, Huntley will be running the offense on the road in Atlanta.

Ravens' Tyler Huntley: Perfect on only drive Friday
Huntley completed all four of his passes for 61 yards and a touchdown while adding 14 rushing yards on two carries in Friday's 41-3 preseason win over the Commanders.
The veteran backup QB was under center for only one possession, but Huntley set the tone for the night by leading an eight-play, 69-yard drive that culminated in a 25-yard TD strike to Chris Moore. Lamar Jackson is the undisputed starter under center for Baltimore, but he missed four games last season due to injury and dealt with significant absences in 2021 and 2022 as well. If Jackson gets banged up again, Huntley offers a reliable fallback option after completing 77.6 percent of his pass attempts (52-for-67) and committing zero turnovers in five appearances last year.

Ravens' Tyler Huntley: Crisp performance in preseason opener
Huntley completed six of seven passes for 76 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Ravens' 24-7 preseason win over the Eagles on Saturday.
With Lamar Jackson inactive Saturday, Huntley started the game and was highly efficient during his time in the game. The veteran did take sacks on back-to-back plays during the opening possession, but he also recorded 29- and 18-yard completions in the contest. Huntley is seemingly locked in to serve as Jackson's primary backup again in 2026, so it's uncertain how much more action he'll see in the Ravens' final pair of exhibitions.

Ravens' Tyler Huntley: Starting Saturday
Huntley is expected to start Saturday's preseason opener against the Eagles, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
The veteran signal-caller returned to Baltimore last season after a one-year stopover in Miami in 2024, and Huntley is once again set to serve as the primary backup to Lamar Jackson this season. Huntley will likely see at least a couple of series Saturday before giving way to Joe Fagnano and potentially, the recently signed Austin Reed.

Ravens' Tyler Huntley: To remain Jackson's backup
Huntley and the Ravens agreed to a two-year, $11 million contract Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
After rejoining the Ravens in October, Huntley served as the direct backup to Lamar Jackson most of the rest of last season, making five appearances (two starts) en route to completing 52 of 67 passes for 426 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions and rushing 24 times for 151 yards and no scores. With this new deal, Huntley will remain the No. 2 QB in Baltimore the next two campaigns.

Huntley finished the 2025 regular season completing 52 of 67 attempts for 426 yards and two touchdowns across five appearances.
It was an interesting season for Huntley, who played a key role in keeping Baltimore's season afloat at different stages. He was cut by Cleveland in August and joined Baltimore's practice squad. The Ravens had signed Cooper Rush to be the new backup during the offseason, though, so Huntley's path to seeing the field was almost completely blocked. When Lamar Jackson went down with a hamstring injury against the Chiefs, Baltimore turned to Rush, who finished that game and started against the Texans and Rams. Amid some struggles, though, Baltimore turned to Huntley. He started and won games against the Bears (Week 8) and Packers (Week 17), both of which came at crucial points for the Ravens' postseason chances. Rush is under contract for $2 million next year, so it's unclear what the future holds for Huntley in Baltimore, especially with an entirely new coaching staff coming in.
