Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby did not participate in practice on Thursday because he was sick.

On Friday, he showed up at the arena in preparation for their game against the Calgary Flames looking like this.

That doesn't look great, especially given the NHL's current mumps outbreak that has made its way around several teams. Crosby said that if he did have the mumps he would not be at the rink preparing to play, while Penguins coach Mike Johnston said the team has had bloodwork done given the number of mumps cases around the NHL, and that when they cleared Crosby to play on Friday they did not find anything like that

Still ... something happened over the past week.
