Katchouk was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Monday.
Katchouk spent the last few days with the NHL club and made three appearances, recording no points, five hits and two blocked shots while averaging 12:11 of ice time. However, his return to the minors could mean that Anthony Cirelli (upper body) is getting closer to returning after missing the last four games.

Katchouk hasn't played in an NHL game since the 2023-24 campaign but could be pressed into service versus the Rangers on Wednesday. Whether the 27-year-old winger gets into the game will likely depend on the health of Anthony Cirelli (upper body) and Pontus Holmberg (undisclosed).

Lightning's Boris Katchouk: Two points in AHL win
Katchouk scored a goal on three shots and added an assist in AHL Syracuse's 5-3 win over Belleville on Sunday.
Katchouk is in his second stint with the Lightning organization, but he missed out on the NHL Opening Night roster. The 27-year-old probably isn't even the top option for a call-up should injuries arise for the Lightning -- Jakob Pelletier offers some skill while Scott Sabourin (suspension) could provide grit once his ban is completed by sitting out games at the NHL level. Katchouk had 13 points over 59 regular-season contests between Chicago and Ottawa in 2023-24, which was his last taste of NHL action.

Katchouk signed a professional tryout agreement with the Ducks on Wednesday, Patrick Present of The Hockey News reports.

The 26-year-old has spent the bulk of the last three years in the NHL, though the Ducks are unlikely to sign him if it would mean blocking a prospect from moving up. If Katchouk spends 2024-25 with Anaheim, he'll likely play on the fourth line.

Katchouk logged a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Sabres.
Katchouk grabbed an assist on Artem Zub's opening goal 2:37 into the first period before extending Ottawa's lead to 2-0 just a few minutes later, deflecting a Parker Kelly shot for Katchouk's first goal in 10 games with the Senators. The 25-year-old Katchouk now has six goals and 11 points across 47 games between Ottawa and Chicago this season. While he provides a physical presence, Katchouk isn't likely to offer consistent production offensively in a fourth-line role.

Katchouk netted a goal in a 3-1 loss to Chicago on Saturday.
Katchouk found the back of the net midway through the second period to put the Blackhawks up 1-0. It was his fourth marker and seventh point in 24 outings this season. The Blackhawks' forward corps has been devastated by injuries, but Katchouk is still serving primarily on the fourth line and isn't getting regular minutes on the power play. As a result, his offensive upside is minimal.

Blackhawks' Boris Katchouk: Garners helper in loss
Katchouk earned an assist in Thursday's 4-1 defeat to the Rangers.
This was Katchouk's first point since Nov. 28 against the Kraken, a stretch of 11 games during which he was a healthy scratch six times. With injuries pilling up at forward, Katachouk should continue to see minutes in a bottom-six role but might have to settle for a spot in the press box if the Hawks start to get healthy.
