Flyers' Boris Katchouk: Joining new organization
Katchouk was dealt from the Wild to the Flyers on Sunday in exchange for Roman Schmidt.
Katchouk played in three games for the Lightning earlier this season before being traded to the Wild in late December. The 2016 second-round pick has posted a total of five goals and 13 points over 29 games between AHL Syracuse and Iowa in 2025-26. The 27-year-old winger will now link up with AHL Lehigh Valley.

Wild's Boris Katchouk: Back down with Iowa
Katchouk has been reassigned to AHL Iowa by the Wild, the team announced Sunday.
Katchouk was brought up to help the Wild fill out practice while they await the return of all of the players from Milan. With everyone on their way back, the 27-year-old has been returned to AHL Iowa. Since being acquired by the Wild in a minor-league trade in late December from the Lightning, he has recorded one goal and one assist in five games with Iowa.

Katchouk was acquired by Minnesota in late December, and he'll join the NHL club for the first time. However, he'll likely head back to the minors after having an opportunity to skate with the Wild during practice before the team resumes play Feb. 26.

Katchouk scored a goal on three shots and added an assist in AHL Syracuse's 5-3 win over Belleville on Sunday.
Katchouk is in his second stint with the Lightning organization, but he missed out on the NHL Opening Night roster. The 27-year-old probably isn't even the top option for a call-up should injuries arise for the Lightning -- Jakob Pelletier offers some skill while Scott Sabourin (suspension) could provide grit once his ban is completed by sitting out games at the NHL level. Katchouk had 13 points over 59 regular-season contests between Chicago and Ottawa in 2023-24, which was his last taste of NHL action.

Katchouk signed a professional tryout agreement with the Ducks on Wednesday, Patrick Present of The Hockey News reports.
Katchouk split last year between the Blackhawks and the Senators, collecting 13 points, 70 shots on net and 82 hits over 59 contests. The 26-year-old has spent the bulk of the last three years in the NHL, though the Ducks are unlikely to sign him if it would mean blocking a prospect from moving up. If Katchouk spends 2024-25 with Anaheim, he'll likely play on the fourth line.

Katchouk grabbed an assist on Artem Zub's opening goal 2:37 into the first period before extending Ottawa's lead to 2-0 just a few minutes later, deflecting a Parker Kelly shot for Katchouk's first goal in 10 games with the Senators. The 25-year-old Katchouk now has six goals and 11 points across 47 games between Ottawa and Chicago this season. This was Katchouk's first point since Nov. 28 against the Kraken, a stretch of 11 games during which he was a healthy scratch six times.
