Oilers' Dalyn Wakely: Hat trick in Lowell's win
Wakely scored three goals in UMass-Lowell's 7-3 win over St. Lawrence University on Saturday.
Wakely had a big game in this contest, which hasn't totally been the norm so far. The 21-year-old is up to five goals and 12 points through 14 contests this season, his first in the NCAA. The Oilers prospect will make more of an impact as a physical forward than a scorer in the long run.

Oilers' Dalyn Wakely: Gets first goal of season
Wakely scored a goal and added an assist in UMass-Lowell's 6-1 win over the University of New Hampshire on Saturday.
Wakely is off to a decent start, primarily as a playmaker, with a goal and seven assists through his first 10 NCAA games. He had 58 points in 55 regular-season games with OHL Barrie last year, but that was way down from a 104-point campaign with North Bay the year before. Wakely is a 21-year-old forward selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, and the Oilers prospect will likely have a long road to get to the NHL.

Oilers' Dalyn Wakely: Headed for Lowell
Wakely has committed to UMass-Lowell ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports Thursday.
Wakely has spent the last four seasons playing in the OHL for North Bay and Barrie. With the Colts this year, the 21-year-old center generated 23 goals and 35 assists in 55 regular-season contests before chipping in 24 points in 16 playoff games. Selected by the Oilers in the sixth round of the 2024 NHL Draft, Wakely should have plenty of time to further develop his game with the River Hawks.
