Astin was added to Cincinnati's 40-man roster Friday.

Astin put together a strong campaign in his second go-around with Double-A Pensacola, posting a 2.26 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 96:25 K:BB ratio in 103.1 innings as a starter and reliever. He doesn't have much prospect shine, but this strong improvement paired with his proximity to the majors could land him a low-leverage bullpen job toward the end of the season.
