Sturm had two shots on goal and one hit over 15:07 of ice time in Friday's 5-3 win over the Sharks.
Sturm made his Avalanche debut after being acquired from the Wild earlier in the week. He slotted in at third-line center, was part of the first-team penalty kill unit and won six of eight draws. That last contribution is one reason why Colorado traded for him; the Avs rank 31st with a 46.8 faceoff win percentage.
