Mets backload Curtis Granderson's contract

According to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman, the Mets will pay outfielder Curtis Granderson only $13 million of his four-year, $60 million contract in 2014. Granderson will then earn $16 million in 2015, $16 million in 2016 and $15 million in 2017.

The two parties agreed to a deal on Friday.
