Right-hander Trevor May took a tough-luck loss on Wednesday, as the Twins were shut down by Johnny Cueto and the Reds. May was strong in the outing, allowing just two runs (one earned) over 6 1/3 innings. He walked three and struck out six, but his record dropped to 4-7.

This was a nice bounceback effort for May, who was able to get all of one out before being pulled in the first inning with six runs allowed in his last start. May's ERA shrunk to 4.37 with Wednesday's performance.

Discounting that nightmare start in his previous outing, May has allowed more than three runs just once in his last eight starts.
