The Bears are having a "serious case of buyer's remorse" over quarterback Jay Cutler's contract, according to NFL.com National Insider Ian Rapoport. Cutler signed a seven-year contract extension in January, reportedly worth $126 million and includes $54 million guaranteed.
There are people within the organization that doubt Cutler can lead the team in accomplishing its goals, according to Rapoport. A major issue for Cutler is not being able to check out of bad plays in the run game. It is not the only reason the Bears are averaging 88.7 rushing yards per game, but apparently a major reason.
The Bears are 5-8 and are in last place in the NFC North following Thursday's 41-28 loss to Dallas.
