Capitals' Parker Milner: Serving as Capitals' backup Friday
Milner signed a professional tryout agreement Friday with the Capitals and will back up Logan Thompson versus the Ducks.
Milner never appeared in an NHL game during his career, ending his professional career in the AHL with Hershey. He's remained in the Capitals' orbit as their practice goalie this season and traveled with the team on this trip to California. Once Charlie Lindgren (upper body) is healthy, Milner will be released from his tryout.

Parker Milner: Retires from professional hockey
Milner will hang up his skates and call it a career, Seth Rorabaugh of TribLive.com reports.
Undrafted following a four-year career at Boston College, Milner spent the next seven seasons bouncing between the ECHL and AHL, never making it to the NHL. The netminder signed just one contract with an NHL club -- a one-year, two-way deal with Washington in February of 2019. With his playing days behind him, Milner has found a career as a cuisine editor in Charleston, South Carolina.

Capitals' Parker Milner: Joining big club
Milner was called up from ECHL South Carolina on Sunday.
Milner's ECHL squad was eliminated from the postseason, so he'll become the third Capitals goaltender on the depth chart. Ilya Samsonov was sent back to AHL Hershey as he looks to advance his team further in the AHL playoffs. Milner won't see any NHL action barring an emergency injury situation.

Capitals' Parker Milner: Inks deal with Capitals
Milner signed a one-year, two-way contract with Washington on Sunday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Milner had already spent time in the Capitals' system with AHL Hershey, so this is likely either a move to ensure depth in case of an injury or a move to set up a trade later Monday. In either case, Milner is a 28-year-old with most of his experience in the ECHL, which says he's only going to be relevant in fantasy if something disastrous happens with the Capitals' goalies. He can be safely ignored.

Capitals' Parker Milner: Signs minor-league deal
Milner was signed by AHL Hershey to a minor-league contract Tuesday, JJ Reagan of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.
Milner spent most of 2016-17 with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, where he recorded a 2.72 GAA and .900 save percentage en route to a 26-14-0 record in 43 games. With Phoenix Copley and Adam Carlson tending the twine in AHL Hershey, Milner is likely headed back to South Carolina; he remains far from fantasy relevance as a result.
