  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Earns helper in loss

Sprong notched an assist and three shots on goal in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Flames. Sprong had the secondary assist on John Hayden's first goal as a member of the Kraken in the first period. The helper ended Sprong's three-game point drought. He's still been relatively productive with four goals and five assists over 14 outings in January, and Sprong's up to 29 points, 88 shots on net and a plus-11 rating through 41 contests overall.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Sets career high in goals

Sprong scored a power-play goal and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Oilers. Sprong's 15th tally of the season bounced in off an Oiler stick in the first period. The goal gave him a new career high, making this an impressive first half-plus of the season for the second-round pick from 2015. He's at 28 points, also a career high, while adding 80 shots on net and a plus-12 rating through 37 contests in a fourth-line role. Ten of his points have come on the power play, and he's now scored in four of his last seven outings.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Nets goal vs. Blackhawks

Sprong contributed a goal in Seattle's 8-5 win against Chicago on Saturday. Sprong opened the scoring at 2:50 of the first period. It was his 14th goal and 27th point in 35 games this season. His offensive production is all the more impressive when you consider that he entered Saturday's action averaging just 11:10 of ice time. Unless his role with the Kraken grows, though, Sprong will have trouble maintaining his current offensive pace.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Creates assist in win

Sprong registered an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Bruins. Sprong flung a shot from a bad angle toward Linus Ullmark in the first period, but a sublime tip from Brandon Tanev made it a goal. This was Sprong's sixth point through seven games in January, and only two of them have come on the power play as he gets more involved at even strength. The 25-year-old's career year has seen him produced 13 goals, 13 helpers, 75 shots on net and a plus-16 rating through 34 contests.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Strikes again on power play

Sprong scored a power-play goal on five shots and added two PIM in Monday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens. Sprong has gotten on the scoresheet in five of the last six games, notching three goals and three helpers in that span. Two of those points have come on the power play, including his goal that went off the post and trickled across the line Monday. The winger is in the midst of a career year with 13 tallies, 25 points, 69 shots on net, a plus-16 rating and nine power-play points through 32 appearances. His 15:47 of ice time Monday was his second-highest total of the year -- it appears Sprong's consistency is starting to be rewarded.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Scoring exploits continue

Sprong scored a goal and added an assist in an 8-4 victory over the Senators on Saturday. This guy continues to amaze with his production in limited ice time. Sprong skated 13:40 on Saturday, which aside from a big-minute game December 30, was his highest ice time since opening night (13:43). He has eight points, including five goals, in his last eight games and 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists) in 31 games. Sprong's skills have never been debated, but this is the first time we're seeing him deployed in the perfect way for them to shine. Check your wire.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Contributes power-play helper

Sprong logged a power-play assist, three shots on goal, two blocked shots and two PIM in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Oilers. Spring has gotten on the scoresheet in seven of his last 10 games, posting six goals and two helpers in that span. Just two of those points have come on the power play -- he's proving to be more than just a specialist in that regard. The 25-year-old is up to 22 points (eight on the power play), 61 shots on net and a plus-14 rating through 29 contests despite often seeing only fourth-line minutes.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Supplies helper in win

Sprong notched an assist in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Islanders. The helper was Sprong's first since Dec. 1, but he made up for the lack of playmaking by burying six goals last month. The 25-year-old continues to see time on the fourth line and on the power play, though he could see reduced usage in that latter role if Eeli Tolvanen sticks in the Kraken's lineup. Sprong has 11 tallies, 10 assists, 58 shots on net and a plus-14 rating through 28 contests.

Sprong scored a goal on three shots, added three hits and went plus-2 in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Oilers. Sprong got the Kraken on the board in the second period. As the lines got shuffled late in the blowout loss, he received a boost in ice time and ended with 17:48, which is 4:05 more than his previous high this season in his debut. The 25-year-old is up to 11 goals and 20 points through 27 appearances. He's been on a tear to close out 2022, netting six of his goals in his last eight contests.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Matches career high in points

Sprong scored two goals in 10:19 of ice time during a 6-5 loss to the host Canucks on Thursday. Sprong continues to make the most of his bottom-six minutes, collecting five markers in six games. The 25-year-old right winger entered Thursday leading all NHL skaters in scoring who average less than 11 minutes of ice time per game. Sprong, who was averaging 10:37, has collected 10 goals and nine assists this season. Securing his fourth career two-goal game Thursday, Sprong has compiled 19 points in 25 appearances this season, equaling the career high he established in 47 games with the Ducks in 2018-19.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Tallies in win

Sprong scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Blues. The Kraken made a quick transition on their third goal of the game. Brandon Tanev got the puck behind his own goal line and rimmed it around to Morgan Geekie, who set up Sprong for a breakaway tally. The goal was Sprong's third in the last five games as he continues to produce well in a fourth-line role. He's up to eight goals, 17 points, 49 shots on net and a plus-9 rating through 24 outings this season.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Scores seventh goal of 2022-23

Sprong found the back of the net in a 3-2 loss to Carolina on Thursday. Sprong scored at 9:14 of the third period to cut the Hurricanes' lead to 3-2, but Seattle was unable to close that final gap. It was his seventh goal and 16th point in 22 contests this season. The 25-year-old's offensive production is very impressive when you consider that he entered the game averaging just 10:32 of ice time. It will be hard for Sprong to maintain his scoring pace though, if he doesn't start to play a bigger role.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Blasts in power-play goal

Sprong scored a power-play goal on three shots and went minus-2 in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Panthers. Sprong ended his three-game point drought with a laser of a one-timer, set up by Alexander Wennberg in the third period. The 25-year-old Sprong is still playing on the fourth line at even strength, but his hard shot has value on the half-wall on the Kraken's second power-play unit. He's up to six goals, 15 points (seven on the power play), 40 shots on net and a plus-6 rating through 20 appearances.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Picks up helper Thursday

Sprong posted an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Capitals. Sprong controlled the puck for a shot and Yanni Gourde struck on a rebound late in the third period to tie the game. Over the last six games, Sprong has three goals and four assists despite a limited fourth-line role. The 25-year-old is up to 14 points (five goals, nine helpers), 30 shots and a plus-8 rating through 16 contests, and his strong play of late will make it virtually impossible for head coach Dave Hakstol to scratch Sprong any time soon.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Gets goal, assist in win

Sprong scored a goal on four shots and added a power-play assist in Tuesday's 9-8 overtime win over the Kings. Sprong set up an Alexander Wennberg goal in the first period. In the second, Sprong scored one of the stranger tallies in the high-scoring contest, with a shot deflecting high and then bouncing into the net. The 25-year-old winger has been locked in lately with three goals and three assists in his last five outings. He's up to five tallies, eight helpers, six power-play points, 28 shots on net and a plus-8 rating in 15 contests this season despite seeing fourth-line minutes at even strength.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Game-winner hurts division rival

Sprong scored the third-period's lone goal during a 5-4 victory over the host Ducks on Sunday. Sprong benefited from Kevin Shattenkirk colliding with -- and injuring -- goalie John Gibson early in the third period Sunday. Left open to shoot into an unguarded net, the 25-year-old Sprong secured his second goal in nine games and first game-winner this season, the eighth of his career. Sprong, who spent parts of two seasons with the Ducks, also earned an assist and generated three shots against his former club.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Manages assist in win

Sprong logged an assist and two hits in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Sharks. Sprong set up Ryan Donato's goal in the second period, which gave the Kraken their first lead of the game at 3-2. The assist gave Sprong points in consecutive outings. The 25-year-old winger has collected three goals, six helpers, 21 shots on net and a plus-6 rating through 12 appearances, with four of his nine points coming on the power play. Despite the solid production, he's still in a fourth-line role, though the Kraken's balanced offense often allows many players to get a chance to contribute.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Quick response on power play

Sprong scored a power-play goal on two shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Kings. Trevor Moore's shorthanded goal put the Kings ahead early in the third period, but that lasted all of 18 seconds before Sprong replied. The tally ended a four-game slump for Sprong, who was scratched versus the Jets last Sunday. The 25-year-old winger is still confined to a fourth-line role, but he's earned four of his eight points this season on the power play. He's added 20 shots on net and a plus-5 rating in 11 contests, so he could have some appeal in deeper formats when he's in the lineup.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Two helpers against Wild

Sprong notched two assists, one on the power play, in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Wild. The 25-year-old had a late start to the season due to visa issues after winning a roster spot in camp on a PTO, but he's erupted for two goals and seven points over the last five games. It's not clear how sustainable this surge is, however. While Sprong was a big scorer in juniors and the AHL, his best season in the NHL came in 2018-19 when he managed just 14 goals and 23 points in 63 games. He's also skating on the fourth line for Seattle, although he is supplementing that even-strength work with regular time on the power play.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Tallies on power play

Sprong scored a power-play goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Flames. Sprong sparked the Kraken's third-period comeback, converting on a pass from Alexander Wennberg. The tally was Sprong's second of the year, both of which have come in the last four games. He has five points (two on the power play), 10 shots on net and a plus-4 rating in five outings overall. Despite his fourth-line role at even strength, he's seeing time on the second power-play unit, and his success there is helping to keep him in the lineup.
