  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Posts helper in loss

Sprong produced an assist and two PIM in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Senators. Sprong has a goal and three helpers over his last four contests, but he remains one of the forwards head coach Dave Hakstol cycles in and out of the lineup. Sprong's 6:36 of ice time Thursday was a season low, so it's possible he could be in line for a return to the press box soon. He has 34 points, 108 shots on net and a plus-7 rating through 51 appearances.

Sprong scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Ducks. Sprong took a shot from the left-wing circle that bounced off John Gibson and spun into the net. It was a good return to the lineup for Sprong, who had been a healthy scratch for the last two games. He's up to 16 tallies, 33 points, 108 shots on net and a plus-8 rating through 50 contests overall, though his spot in the lineup is far from secure even with a contribution on offense.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Collects assist Saturday

Sprong notched an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Red Wings. John Hayden was reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley on Friday, allowing Sprong to get back in the lineup after he was scratched for two games. The time in the press box did the 25-year-old some good, as he snapped his four-game point drought by setting up Eeli Tolvanen's third-period tally. Sprong has 15 goals, 15 assists, 100 shots on net and a plus-8 rating through 46 contests this season -- it's already a career year for him, though he's not guaranteed a place in the lineup on a nightly basis. If the Kraken don't make a call-up or activate Andre Burakovsky (lower body) before Monday's game versus the Sharks, Sprong will likely remain in the lineup.

He's at 28 points, also a career high, while adding 80 shots on net and a plus-12 rating through 37 contests in a fourth-line role. Ten of his points have come on the power play, and he's now scored in four of his last seven outings.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Nets goal vs. Blackhawks

Sprong contributed a goal in Seattle's 8-5 win against Chicago on Saturday. Sprong opened the scoring at 2:50 of the first period. It was his 14th goal and 27th point in 35 games this season. His offensive production is all the more impressive when you consider that he entered Saturday's action averaging just 11:10 of ice time. Unless his role with the Kraken grows, though, Sprong will have trouble maintaining his current offensive pace.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Creates assist in win

Sprong registered an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Bruins. Sprong flung a shot from a bad angle toward Linus Ullmark in the first period, but a sublime tip from Brandon Tanev made it a goal. The 25-year-old's career year has seen him produced 13 goals, 13 helpers, 75 shots on net and a plus-16 rating through 34 contests.

Sprong scored a power-play goal on five shots and added two PIM in Monday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens. Sprong has gotten on the scoresheet in five of the last six games, notching three goals and three helpers in that span. Two of those points have come on the power play, including his goal that went off the post and trickled across the line Monday. The winger is in the midst of a career year with 13 tallies, 25 points, 69 shots on net, a plus-16 rating and nine power-play points through 32 appearances. His 15:47 of ice time Monday was his second-highest total of the year -- it appears Sprong's consistency is starting to be rewarded.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Scoring exploits continue

Sprong scored a goal and added an assist in an 8-4 victory over the Senators on Saturday. This guy continues to amaze with his production in limited ice time. Sprong skated 13:40 on Saturday, which aside from a big-minute game December 30, was his highest ice time since opening night (13:43). He has eight points, including five goals, in his last eight games and 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists) in 31 games. Sprong's skills have never been debated, but this is the first time we're seeing him deployed in the perfect way for them to shine. Check your wire.

Spring has gotten on the scoresheet in seven of his last 10 games, posting six goals and two helpers in that span. Just two of those points have come on the power play -- he's proving to be more than just a specialist in that regard. The 25-year-old is up to 22 points (eight on the power play), 61 shots on net and a plus-14 rating through 29 contests despite often seeing only fourth-line minutes.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Supplies helper in win

Sprong notched an assist in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Islanders. The helper was Sprong's first since Dec. 1, but he made up for the lack of playmaking by burying six goals last month. The 25-year-old continues to see time on the fourth line and on the power play, though he could see reduced usage in that latter role if Eeli Tolvanen sticks in the Kraken's lineup. Sprong has 11 tallies, 10 assists, 58 shots on net and a plus-14 rating through 28 contests.

The goal was Sprong's third in the last five games as he continues to produce well in a fourth-line role. He's up to eight goals, 17 points, 49 shots on net and a plus-9 rating through 24 outings this season.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Scores seventh goal of 2022-23

Sprong found the back of the net in a 3-2 loss to Carolina on Thursday. Sprong scored at 9:14 of the third period to cut the Hurricanes' lead to 3-2, but Seattle was unable to close that final gap. It was his seventh goal and 16th point in 22 contests this season. The 25-year-old's offensive production is very impressive when you consider that he entered the game averaging just 10:32 of ice time. It will be hard for Sprong to maintain his scoring pace though, if he doesn't start to play a bigger role.

Sprong scored a power-play goal on three shots and went minus-2 in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Panthers. Sprong ended his three-game point drought with a laser of a one-timer, set up by Alexander Wennberg in the third period. The 25-year-old Sprong is still playing on the fourth line at even strength, but his hard shot has value on the half-wall on the Kraken's second power-play unit. He's up to six goals, 15 points (seven on the power play), 40 shots on net and a plus-6 rating through 20 appearances.

  • Kraken's Daniel Sprong: Picks up helper Thursday

Sprong posted an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Capitals. Sprong controlled the puck for a shot and Yanni Gourde struck on a rebound late in the third period to tie the game. Over the last six games, Sprong has three goals and four assists despite a limited fourth-line role. The 25-year-old is up to 14 points (five goals, nine helpers), 30 shots and a plus-8 rating through 16 contests, and his strong play of late will make it virtually impossible for head coach Dave Hakstol to scratch Sprong any time soon.
