  • Maple Leafs' Ian Scott: Unavailable for AHL Toronto

Scott (undisclosed) is not playing with AHL Toronto currently, Kevin McGran of The Toronto Star reports.

Scott missed the first three months of the season with an injury as well, and it appears he has suffered another one. The Maple Leafs' organizational goaltending depth is being tested with Jack Campbell (ribs) and Petr Mrazek (groin) unavailable at the NHL level.

  • Maple Leafs' Ian Scott: Activated, sent down Saturday

Scott (undisclosed) was activated from injured reserve and assigned to AHL Toronto on Saturday, per CapFriendly.

  • Maple Leafs' Ian Scott: Practices Sunday

Scott (undisclosed) practiced Sunday, but he's still recovering from injury, reports the Toronto Star.

Both Jack Campbell and Petr Mrazek are in COVID-19 protocols, so the Leafs are in tough for netminding. Only Joseph Woll is healthy and under contract. At least Scott is back on the ice, which is a positive step.

  • Maple Leafs' Ian Scott: Surfaces on non-roster list

Scott (undisclosed) has been designated as an injured non-roster player by Toronto, SB Nation reports.

The nature of Scott's injury remains a mystery, but once he's healthy, look for him to be assigned to the AHL or ECHL. The 22-year-old netminder spent most of the 2020-21 season with the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL, going 0-1-0 while posting a 4.17 GAA and an .844 save percentage in five appearances.

  • Maple Leafs' Ian Scott: Heads to minors

Scott was assigned to AHL Toronto on Sunday.

Scott has yet to make his NHL debut. In fact, he hasn't played a game at any level since the 2018-19 campaign due to a hip injury. The 22-year-old is healthy now, so he'll aim to get some ice time with the AHL affiliate.

  • Maple Leafs' Ian Scott: Recalled to taxi squad

Scott (hip) was recalled from AHL Toronto to the taxi squad Monday.

Frederik Andersen is dealing with a lower-body injury, so Scott will add depth in net behind Jack Campbell and Michael Hutchinson for the time being. Scott is coming off hip surgery and hasn't played since the 2018-19 season, but it appears that he's healthy enough to play if called upon.

  • Maple Leafs' Ian Scott: Surgery to fix hip successful

Scott underwent successful hip surgery to correct ongoing issues related to impingement syndrome and is expected to miss at least six months, reports the Toronto Marlies official site.

Surgery is often recommended as a treatment for hip impingement, a condition that occurs when there's abnormal contact between bones in the hip that causes pain and decreased range of motion. Scott has not played since the end of the 2018-19 season, a stellar campaign that earned him the CHL Goaltender of the Year. Scott will undergo intensive physiotherapy and the Marlies anticipate he will be ready for training camp next September.

  • Maple Leafs' Ian Scott: Named WHL Goalie of the Year

Scott has been named 2018-19 WHL Goaltender of the Year.

It was a well-deserved honor for Toronto's 2017 fourth-round selection. Scott's eight shutouts led all WHL goaltenders and he finished second in the league in wins (38), GAA (1.83) and save percentage (.932). The 20-year-old signed an entry-level contract with Toronto in December and will turn pro this coming fall.

  • Maple Leafs' Ian Scott: Earns first WJC victory

Scott stopped 15 of 17 shots in Canada's 3-2 win over Switzerland at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship on Thursday.

Scott played his way onto the Canadian roster after posting an insane 23-2-1 record to go along with a 1.61 GAA and .943 save percentage for Prince Albert of the WHL and he now has his first WJC win under his belt. Canadian coach Mark Hunter has already stated that Vancouver prospect Michael DiPietro is his club's unquestioned No. 1 netminder, and as a result, it's entirely possible that Thursday was Scott's only appearance of the tournament. Either way, the 2017 fourth-round selection has turned into one of the better goaltending prospects in the league with his excellent first half.
