The Colts activated linebacker Robert Mathis off the PUP list Tuesday, which allows him to practice for the first time this preseason.
At the beginning of training camp, owner Jim Irsay put a timetable for Mathis to return from a torn Achilles around late September or early October. His activation off the PUP list came sooner than expected.
