There are 16 games on the 2024 MLB Spring Training schedule on Friday as the calendar flips to March and Opening Day continues to creep closer. Several big-name pitchers are scheduled to take the mound on today's slate. Gerrit Cole is pitching for the Yankees as they take on Blue Jays at 6:35 p.m. ET in Tampa, Fla. The latest MLB odds list the Yankees as -160 favorites (risk $160 to win $100) in that one.

Tyler Glasnow is set to make his second appearance for the Dodgers and they are -205 favorites against the Guardians in that 8:05 p.m. ET matchup in Glendale, Ariz. Top MLB Spring Training picks for Friday

One of Cohen's top 2024 MLB Spring Training picks for Friday: He's recommending a fade of Bryce Elder and the Atlanta Braves against the Baltimore Orioles in a 1:05 p.m. ET matchup in North Port, Fla.

Elder was an All-Star in 2023, but that doesn't fully tell the story of his overall campaign. He had a 2.97 ERA before the All-Star break, but then collapsed down the stretch with a 5.11 ERA from that point forward. He was then crushed in his only playoff outing, giving up six earned runs in 2.2 innings in a loss to the Phillies in the NLDS.

Those struggles carried forward to the first start of the spring as he gave up four hits and two earned runs in 1.1 innings against the Red Sox on Feb. 25. Now Elder and the Braves take on a Baltimore squad that is 6-1 this spring and riding a four-game winning streak. The Orioles already beat the Braves once this spring, and Cohen is picking the Orioles to win 8-6 on Friday.
