Sibling rivalries are very real. Siblings get competitive about a lot of things, but especially sports. This is brought to a whole new level when it is happening at a sport's highest level.
Take a look at what went down as Bradley, the younger brother by a little more than a year, took Kyle deep:
Hitting a home run in a professional baseball game must feel incredible, but to do it against your brother must make it extra special.
At least in games when they play each other no matter what their family members will be able to celebrate the outcome. Cleveland went on to defeat the Royals, 8-5. Bradley was the fourth hitter in MLB history to homer against his brother, and the first to do so since 1975. MLB.com's Sarah Langs has a full list:
Bradley Zimmer's HR off Kyle Zimmer is the 4th instance in the modern era (since 1900) of a player homering off his brother, along with:— Sarah Langs (@SlangsOnSports) September 27, 2021
5/29/1975: Joe Niekro off Phil Niekro
7/19/1933: Rick Ferrell off Wes Ferrell
10/7/1904: George Stovall off Jesse Stovall
Many sibling duos or trios have faced off in recent years, including JJ Watt, TJ Watt and Derek Watt in the NFL, Venus Williams and Serena Williams in tennis and Steph Curry and Seth Curry in the NBA.
