Evans (Achilles) is expected to return after San Francisco's Week 8 bye, David Lombardi of SF Standard reports.
After missing Sunday's game against the Falcons with the Achilles issue, Evans appears to be trending toward a return for San Francisco's next contest in Week 9 against the Raiders. Working as the Niners' big-play X receiver this season, Evans has been nearly unstoppable when healthy. Maintaining health has been his biggest issue. When on the field, Evans is a fantasy WR2 with WR1 upside.

49ers' Mike Evans: Ruled out for Week 7
Evans (Achilles) is out for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
This comes as no surprise after Evans was unable to practice all week following Monday night's early departure against the Commanders. The Niners have a Week 8 bye, and the team hopes Evans will be able to be ready to return following that off week. San Francisco should get Christian Kirk (calf) back from injured reserve this Sunday. He'd join Jordan Watkins and Brandin Cooks atop the depth chart this weekend.

Evans officially logged a second consecutive DNP after he made an early exit from Monday's win against the Commanders due to an aggravation of a right Achilles' injury, which head coach Kyle Shanahan has called soreness, per Wagoner. While Evans now has just one more chance to mix into drills this week, he's proved in the past that he doesn't require practice reps to be available on game days. Whether or not he has a chance to play Sunday in Atlanta will become known once the 49ers post their final Week 7 injury report Friday.

Evans has yet to practice since aggravating his right Achilles during Monday's win against the Commanders, which forced him out just before halftime of that contest. Coach Kyle Shanahan called the injury "soreness" afterward, per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com, and at the same time he said he doesn't believe the wide receiver has a long-term injury. Evans doesn't need to practice in order to make himself available on game day, but Friday's injury report will reveal if he has a chance to play Sunday in Atlanta.

Evans (ribs/Achilles) officially didn't practice Wednesday, Harrison Rich of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
As expected, Evans didn't mix into drills just two days removed from exiting Monday's game against the Commanders early due to an Achilles injury. Afterward, coach Kyle Shanahan termed the issue right Achilles soreness, per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com, which isn't believed to be a long-term concern. Shanahan also expressed hope that Evans will be able to play Sunday in Atlanta, but in the end the 49ers likely will exercise caution with the top wide receiver on the roster.

Evans exited late in the first half of Monday's game against the Commanders and was quickly ruled out due to an Achilles injury that initially showed up during Week 6 prep. Shanahan told Wagoner afterward that Evans is dealing with right Achilles tendinitis, and while he doesn't believe it's a long-term concern, he also is hopeful the veteran wide receiver will be able to play Sunday in Atlanta. Evans already has proven he doesn't need much, if any, on-field work in a given week to be available on game day, but this particular occasion appears to be different.

49ers' Mike Evans: Nursing Achilles tendinitis, iffy for Week 8
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said after Monday's 23-17 win over the Commanders that Evans' early exit was due to right Achilles tendinitis, but he doesn't believe the wideout will require further testing or imaging, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. "I hope he recovers throughout the week, but you don't think it's a long-term thing, but right now it ended up costing him two quarters and hopefully he'll be able to play [Sunday in Atlanta]," Shanahan said.
Listed as questionable heading into Monday after failing to practice all week while nursing the Achilles issue in addition to fractured ribs, Evans suited up but lasted just two quarters before aggravating the Achilles injury. He still delivered for fantasy managers with three receptions for 94 yards on five targets, but the veteran wideout's latest setback on the health front could put him in danger of missing his first game of the season. Before deciding on Evans' status for Sunday's game, the 49ers will likely continue to rest him during practices throughout the week and see how he bounces back from the Achilles tendinitis. With a bye on tap in Week 8, the 49ers may be incentivized to hold Evans out against the Falcons to ensure he's in optimal health for the second half of the season.

Evans is expected to miss some time after aggravating his Achilles injury in Monday night's 23-17 win over the Commanders, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Evans' Achilles is "in tact," according to Chan, but the Niners are expected to hold the wide receiver out through the team's Week 8 bye with an eye toward a return in Week 9 against the Raiders. San Francisco struggled mightily to move the ball in the second half with Evans out of the game, but perhaps Christian Kirk (calf) will be able to return next Sunday against the Falcons to give the position a boost.
