Davis Webb: Turns to coaching
Webb has retired from the NFL and was hired as the quarterbacks coach for the Broncos on Saturday, Andrew Crane of the New York Post reports.
Webb was a third-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and made the lone start of his career in Week 18 of the 2022 season. He performed admirably, but even so, he's decided to retire at the age of 28.

Davis Webb: Shifts back to practice squad
Webb reverted to the Giants' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Webb stepped in as the Giants' starting quarterback Week 18 with top signal-caller Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor both active but not participating. As a result, the 6-foot-5 Webb went 23-for-40 passing for 168 yards and a touchdown as well as six rushes for 41 yards and a score on the ground. Webb also handled all 63 of the team's offensive snaps while making the second appearance of his career. Expect the 27-year-old to serve as the Giants' next best option at quarterback if either Jones or Taylor sustain an injury during the team's upcoming playoff appearance.

Giants' Davis Webb: Produces two TDs in first start
Webb completed 23 of 40 passes for 168 yards and a touchdown while adding 41 rushing yards and a TD on six carries in Sunday's 22-16 loss to the Eagles.
Making his first career NFL start with the Giants sitting most of their starters in a season finale that had little on the line for them, Webb didn't have much luck stretching the field as only one of his completions went for more than 16 yards, but that one was a 25-yard score to Kenny Golladay in the fourth quarter. With Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor both free agents in the offseason, it's possible Webb could return and have a bigger role for the Giants in 2023, but more likely he'll be looking for a depth role again next season.

Giants' Davis Webb: On tap for Week 18 start
Webb, who was elevated from the practice squad Saturday, is expected to serve as the Giants' starting quarterback in Sunday's game against the Eagles, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
With the Giants locked in as the No. 6 seed in the NFC playoffs, the Giants won't take any chances with top signal-caller Daniel Jones, who is expected to be inactive for the contest. Though Tyrod Taylor has served as Jones' top backup all season, the Giants plan to keep him in the No. 2 role once again in Week 18, setting up Webb to make the second appearance of his NFL career. Over his three outings in the preseason with New York, Webb completed 60 of 81 pass attempts for 457 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while carrying five times for 12 yards.

Davis Webb: Returns to practice squad
Webb reverted to the Giants' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Webb was on hand in case disaster struck at quarterback for the Giants in the big Week 15 game against Washington. Both Daniel Jones and backup Tyrod Taylor made it out of the 20-12 win unscathed, so Webb's services weren't necessary.
