Campbell finished with two tackles (one solo) in Sunday's 38-20 win over the Giants.
The output marked a season low for the rookie linebacker, who also played on fewer than half the defensive snaps for the first time in 2025. With Nakobe Dean back from a torn left patellar tendon, the Eagles are still figuring out their linebacker rotation.

Eagles' Jihaad Campbell: Maintains starting role
Rotowire
Campbell recorded seven tackles (four solo) in Thursday's 34-17 loss to the Giants.
Campbell has maintained a consistent role in the middle of the Eagles' defense, though there was some question of how much the return of Nakobe Dean would change his outlook. Campbell was on the field for exactly 90 percent of defensive snaps, while Dean played exclusively on special teams. That snap allocation could change as Dean gets back into game shape, but Campbell has had a strong start to his rookie season and should remain a big part of Philadelphia's defense regardless.

Eagles' Jihaad Campbell: Sees reps increase Monday
Rotowire
Campbell (shoulder) saw increased work in team drills during Monday's training camp practice, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.
Campbell was limited to start training camp while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, but he has progressed enough to participate in team drills. He was selected by the Eagles in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft after a strong final season at Alabama, when he recorded 117 total tackles, including 5.0 sacks, and two forced fumbles over 13 games. Campbell will have an opportunity to compete for a starting spot at inside linebacker, with Nakobe Dean (knee) representing his biggest hurdle.

Eagles' Jihaad Campbell: Works with first-team defense
Rotowire
Campbell (shoulder) was officially considered a limited participant in Saturday's practice, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
However, Campbell worked with the first-team defense and appears ready for padded practice Tuesday, per Andrew DiCecco of InsideTheBirds.com. Thus, the rookie first-round pick is on track to shake his injury tag within the next week barring a setback. With Nakobe Dean (knee) on the PUP list to start training camp, Campbell should continue to start next to Zack Baun at inside linebacker, and the former could win the job outright with a strong preseason performance.

Eagles' Jihaad Campbell: Limited to start training camp
Rotowire
Campbell (shoulder) was a limited participant in Philadelphia's first day of training camp Wednesday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Campbell fell to the end of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft due in part to concerns regarding a labrum issue that ultimately required surgery in March. However, he appears to be ahead of the team's original injury timeline, as he wasn't expected to start participating in the Eagles' offseason practices until August. The 21-year-old is expected to compete for a starting role immediately, with Zack Baun and Nakobe Dean (knee), who began training camp on the active/PUP list, his primary competition.

Eagles' Jihaad Campbell: Picked by Eagles 31st overall
Rotowire
The Eagles selected Campbell (shoulder) in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 31st overall.
The Eagles tend to do a consistently good job with their premium draft picks, and Campbell was often projected to go earlier than this. Despite a distinguished career at Alabama, where he started two seasons and really broke out as a star defender in 2024, Campbell faced some concerns that he lacks a clear position. Like Jalon Walker (selected 15th overall by Atlanta), there's reason to think Campbell is a tweener in the positive sense (good at more that one position) rather than the negative meaning (good at neither and slightly misfit for both). For Campbell to log 117 tackles (11.5 for loss) in 2024 and then run a 4.52-second 40-yard dash gives him a strong profile from a production and athleticism standpoint, so the Eagles will probably find something useful for him to do even if they're not completely sure what in the meantime. Campbell underwent surgery to repair a torn shoulder labrum in March, but the most recent reporting indicated he's expected to be ready for training camp.
