Browns' Alex Wright: Records career highs in 2025
Wright had career highs in tackles (37) and sacks (5.5) along with one pass defensed and one forced fumble over 14 regular-season games in 2025.
Like other players on the defensive line, Wright operated outside the limelight that shone on Myles Garrett, who established a new NFL record with 23.0 sacks in 2025. However, Wright's most productive season of his four-year career did not go unnoticed, as the Browns signed him to a three-year extension in November of 2025. Playing opposite Garrett, who draws a lot of attention, could lead to more sacks for Wright in 2026.

Browns' Alex Wright: Good to go
Wright (quadriceps) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Wright missed the Browns' Week 13 loss to the 49ers with a quadriceps injury, but three practices capped off with a full session Friday were enough to avoid an injury designation for Sunday's contest. The return of the starting defensive end opposite Myles Garrett is a huge boon for a Browns defensive line that is already without Maliek Collins (quadriceps) and potentially without Mason Graham (ribs).

Browns' Alex Wright: Out for Week 13
Wright (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
After signing a three-year, $33 million extension last week, Wright will miss his second straight game with the injury. Cameron Thomas should again play increased defensive snaps against San Francisco after recording six tackles, including 1.0 sacks, against Las Vegas last Sunday.

Browns' Alex Wright: Logs DNP on Wednesday
Wright (quadriceps) is not practicing Wednesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Wright was sidelined for the Browns' Week 12 win over the Raiders due to a quadriceps injury, and Wednesday's DNP suggests he's still dealing with the issue. The UAB product is one of Cleveland's top defensive linemen, having recorded 24 total tackles, including 3.0 sacks, and a forced fumble in nine appearances this season. He likely needs to practice in full either Thursday or Friday to avoid an injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the 49ers.

Browns' Alex Wright: Out for Sunday
Wright (quadriceps) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Raiders, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
The fourth-year pro from UAB logged consecutive DNPs to begin the Browns' week of practice due to a quadriceps injury, so it's no surprise that he'll be sidelined in Week 12. Wright has appeared in nine games for Cleveland this season, recording 24 total tackles, including 3.0 sacks. Expect Cameron Thomas to operate as the Browns' top reserve defensive end while Wright is out Sunday.

Browns' Alex Wright: Lands three-year, $33M extension
Wright (quadriceps) agreed to a three-year, $33 million extension with the Browns on Thursday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Wright's contract includes $21 million guaranteed and is set to keep him in Cleveland through the end of the 2028 season. The 25-year-old rotational pass rusher is recovering from a quadriceps injury, which kept him sidelined for a second consecutive practice Thursday, but the 2-8 Browns are focused on the future with this deal. Wright ranks third on the team with 3.0 sacks among his nine tackles for loss in nine games this season.

Browns' Alex Wright: Not practicing Wednesday
Wright (quadriceps) did not participate at practice Wednesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Wright was sidelined in Week 11 versus the Ravens with a quad injury he suffered in Week 10 against the Jets, and now his status for Week 12 is up in the air. If he can't get back to practice Thursday or Friday, it's not likely he'll have any chance to play Sunday at Las Vegas.
