After changing addresses two weeks ago after being traded by the Edmonton Oilers, Mark Arcobello is on the move again. He spent a grand total of four games with the Nashville Predators after they acquired him for veteran center Derek Roy. Arcobello was waived by Nashville Tuesday and was claimed by the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday.

Arcobello scored one goal in his Predators debut, but was held off the score sheet in the three following contests. In 40 games between the Preds and Oilers this year, the 26-year-old winger has 13 points including eight goals. He will bring some depth to a Penguins squad that has been riddled with injuries and raiding their American Hockey League affiliate.

The Penguins currently have three regular forwards on injured reserve with Blake Comeau, Patric Hornqvist and Pascal Dupuis all out for an extended period of time.

With 82 games of NHL experience and the ability to provide some lower-lineup scoring, Arcobello won’t be a massive addition for the Penguins, but he’ll certainly help a team with some lineup holes.

According to ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun, the Pens also think Arcobello could be a top-nine forward for the team in a pinch. He does have some versatility and can handle himself in the defensive zone, so he’s not a bad fourth line option with some flexibility to move him up when needed.

In addition to what he brings on the ice, Arcobello also comes extremely cheap with a $600,000 cap hit.
