Sikura hit the waiver wire Monday on his way to the minors, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
Sikura has yet to make his NHL debut despite six years playing in the minors with multiple organizations. At 29 years of age, Sikura should probably be considered an AHL asset who will have minimal impact on the Jackets roster this season.

Blue Jackets' Tyler Sikura: Staying in Columbus organization
Sikura signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blue Jackets in July of 2021.
Sikura played last season on a minor-league contract with AHL Cleveland and racked up 21 points in 29 games. That clearly impressed the parent club enough to give him a two-way deal. The 29-year-old forward has yet to make his NHL debut and shouldn't be considered likely to in 2021-22.
