Ruzicka was reassigned to AHL Stockton on Monday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Ruzicka scored once in two games in rookie camp, and added two more goals over three appearances in preseason play. The fourth-round pick from 2017 still needs to round out his overall game a bit more, but there's little question to his scoring skill as he enters his first professional season.

Ruzicka tallied a goal in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Oilers' prospects.

Ruzicka's goal made it 2-0 early in the first period, converting a pass from fellow prospect Jeremy McKenna. The tally would count as the game-winner as the young Flames swept their rivals from Alberta in the two-game series. The 20-year-old Slovak is likely a few years away from the NHL roster. He has recorded 196 points (96 tallies, 100 helpers) in 189 contests over three years in the OHL, split between Sarnia and Sudbury. It's expected he'll feature for Sudbury or AHL Stockton this season.

Ruzicka secured a three-year, entry-level contract with Calgary on Friday.

Ruzicka racked up 78 points in 65 games this season split between OHL Sudbury and Sarnia. The 19-year-old was selected by the Flames in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Draft. He will likely be given a year or two to develop in the minors before getting a shot at the 23-man roster.

Ruzicka picked up a goal and two assists in OHL Sudbury's 7-0 rout of North Bay on Thursday.

Ruzicka's third OHL season has been another bumpy ride. He will show flashes of brilliance now and again, but for a player with his size (6-foot-4, 200 pounds) and skill set, not enough gets done on a nightly basis. The 2017 fourth-round pick now has 16 goals and 43 points in 42 games this season. Hoping to see a bit more consistency from the big Slovakian, Calgary has yet to offer Ruzicka an entry-level contract.
