The fastest goal in World Cup Qualifying history took place in 1993 ... until today. Belgium striker Christian Benteke broke the record of 8.3 seconds set by San Marino's Davide Gaultieri against England in 1993, needing just seven seconds to score on Gibraltar on Monday. Check out the Crystal Palace man's goal in qualifying.

Geez. What a way to start. The TV team hadn't even put the matchup and time on the screen before he got the shot off.
He put pressure on Gibraltar, got the ball and made it look easy. A fine goal, and a record that should stand for quite a while. Oh, and he had a hat trick after just 56 minutes. After not scoring for nearly two years for his country, what a way to get back into ryhthm.
And because it's Benteke, we just have to show this gem of a video from his Aston Villa days.
