The Longhorns lost star point guard Rori Harmon early in the season due to a torn ACL, but freshman Madison Booker stepped up and has made sure the team didn't just survive but absolutely thrive.
The Pac-12 conference was cutthroat in the final season, but Lindsay Gottlieb's Trojans took down powerhouse Stanford to win their conference tournament. USC freshman JuJu Watkins has been incredibly impactful and is already considered a rising star in college basketball.
The Bruins are the No. 2 seed in the Regional 2. They were one of the strongest teams in the nation early in the season, but the Pac-12 conference shook them up a bit. Nevertheless, they gave USC a tough double-overtime battle during the conference tournament semifinals and the committee rewarded them accordingly.
Defending national champion LSU earned a No. 3 seed in the Regional 2 in Albany. The Tigers will be taking on No. 14 seed Rice in the first round.
Kim Mulkey's team was a No. 3 seed last year too, and we saw how that turned out.
The Hawkeyes made it to the 2023 national title game and they are looking to make it back again this year. Caitlin Clark has been sparking the Iowa offense as the nation's leader in scoring and assists. This season, she also became the Division I all-time leading scorer.
Gamecock fans showed up to watch their team celebrate the No. 1 overall seed
No surprise here. The Gamecocks are entering the tournament as the only undefeated college basketball team in the nation and the No. 1 overall seed. Dawn Staley's team won the 2022 national title, and they are looking to lift that trophy again this year. Their suffocating defense and impressively deep offense has helped them have the best scoring margin in the nation.
Iowa guard Caitlin Clark has had a bright spotlight on her en route to becoming the Division I all-time leading scorer. She reached her goal, and how she is looking to get her team back in the NCAA Tournament championship game. The Hawkeyes were competing for the trophy last year but fell short against the LSU Tigers. This is Clark's last season before entering the WNBA Draft, and being the competitor she is, she will be looking to finish the job this time around.
Earlier today, the UConn men's team locked in the No. 1 overall seed and are looking to defend their national title. However, the women's team has set the standard with 11 NCAA Tournament trophies.
Geno Auriemmma's group hasn't been able to shake the injury bug the last few seasons, but despite their main rotation being only seven players, they are here to compete. The Huskies are fresh off their fourth consecutive Big East Tournament, and star player Paige Bueckers has been as strong as ever offensively while also strengthening her defense this season.
