Florida State is feeling the Christmas spirit as the school renovates Doak Campbell Stadium.
One of the upgrades to the stadium is a brand new video board, but instead of discarding of the old scoreboard, the Seminoles are giving it to Florida A&M in Tallahassee.
According to the Tallahassee Democrat, FAMU's scoreboard has been an issue for a few years, often times malfuctioning and sometimes completely inoperable. Now, the Rattlers will have a functional scoreboard courtesy of their Tallahassee neighbors.
Installing the new board will still cost FAMU close to $125,000, but that pales in comparison to what it would have cost to purchase a new scoreboard as well.
"The on-going renovations to Doak Campbell Stadium provided Florida State Athletics an opportunity to work with Florida A&M athletics on some of its athletics priorities," FSU AD Stan Wilcox said. "We will continue to look for opportunities to work together in the future."
"We hope this is the beginning of an enhanced relationship with FSU to bring maximum value to our collective fans," FAMU AD Milton Overton said in a release. "This also falls in line with Dr. Mangum's vision of best-in-class in all areas of our institution.”
