Wiggins won't start Wednesday's preseason game against the Rockets, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
With Alex Caruso and Luguentz Dort resting, Wiggins drew a start during Monday's preseason opener. He posted seven points (3-8 FG), three assists and two rebounds in 22 minutes against the Spurs. However, Caruso and Dort will be back in action Wednesday, pushing Wiggins to a reserve role.

Thunder's Aaron Wiggins: Back in OKC on five-year pact
Wiggins agreed Monday with the Thunder on a five-year, $47 million contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
The Thunder declined Wiggins' team-friendly $1.99 million player option for 2024-25 on Saturday, but the club had always intended to bring the 25-year-old back on a longer-term deal. The two sides were able to come to terms quickly on an agreement, with Wiggins getting some increased financial security and the Thunder retaining a versatile chess piece off the bench for the foreseeable future. Due to his standing as a low-usage player, Wiggins' offensive production rarely jumped off the page, but he was hyper-efficient with his opportunities in 2023-24, converting on 56.2 percent of his attempts from the field and 49.2 percent of his attempts from three-point range over his 78 regular-season appearances. The Thunder have already swapped Josh Giddey off the roster for Alex Caruso during the upcoming season, but unless Oklahoma City elects to marginalize or trade incumbent starting forward Luguentz Dort, Wiggins may not see his role grow substantially in 2024-25 even with the new extension in place. That said, he'll provide plenty of value off the bench thanks to his floor spacing and ability to defend both wings and forwards.

Aaron Wiggins: Enters free agency but could return
The Thunder declined Wiggins' $2 million team option Saturday, but the team is expected to offer the 25-year-old a long-term deal, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Wiggins' efficiency was through the roof last season, during which he shot a career-high 56.2 percent from the field in his third year with OKC. The 25-year-old is expected to be brought back on a long-term deal with the Thunder once free agency officially opens in July. By doing this, the Thunder allow themselves to spend $30 million before potentially re-signing both Isaiah Joe and Wiggins. In a career-high 78 regular-season appearances last year, Wiggins averaged 6.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.7 steals across 15.7 minutes per game.

Wiggins logged 16 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 23 minutes during Tuesday's 117-95 victory over the Mavericks in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Wiggins had his best game of the playoffs, scoring 16 points including three triples. Given he scored a combined 23 points in the first-round series against the Pelicans, outbursts like this shouldn't be expected moving forward. With that said, he should continue to play a meaningful role off the bench, starting with Game 2 which will take place Thursday.
