Jefferson signed with the Cowboys' practice squad Wednesday, Patrick Walker of the team's official site reports.
Jefferson was released during final roster cuts but will now stick around in Dallas, albeit on the practice squad. The 26-year-old has seemingly recovered from a plantar fascia injury suffered during the first preseason game and could provide solid depth if called up for action.
