  • Sharks' Igor Chernyshov: Suffers upper-body injury

Chernyshov isn't expected to return to Thursday's game against Ottawa after sustaining an upper-body injury.

Chernyshov went into Thursday's action with two goals and four points in 10 appearances this season. If he can't play Saturday versus Boston, then Adam Gaudette might draw into the lineup.

  • Seth Jarvis C | CAR

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Set for season debut

Jarvis (shoulder) is expected to make his season debut Thursday versus the Oilers.

Jarvis was officially labeled a game-time decision pending how he felt leading up to puck drop, but the 24-year-old winger appears to be good to go. He is expected to be eased into lineup following a quicker-than-projected recovery from shoulder surgery. Jarvis should also see power-play time, and fantasy managers shouldn't hesitate to activate him.

  • Golden Knights' Mitch Marner: On baby watch

Marner (personal) won't play Thursday versus the Blues.

Marner and his wife are expecting their second child. Marner has stepped away from the team and will miss at least one game, though it's far from a guarantee he'll be back in action in Columbus on Saturday. Alexander Holtz will take Marner's place in the lineup, though Braeden Bowman is likely to pick up extra ice time.

  • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Unavailable Thursday

Byfield (upper body) is expected to miss Thursday's game against the Islanders, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.

Byfield suffered the injury during Tuesday's game against Washington. He has a goal and an assist in seven appearances this season. His absence will likely result in Jared Wright drawing into the lineup Thursday. Byfield was regarded as a game-time decision and still might be an option Saturday in New Jersey.

  • Jeff Malott LW | ANA

Ducks' Jeff Malott: Out of lineup Thursday

Malott (illness) won't play Thursday versus the Devils.

Malott will miss at least one game while under the weather. The Ducks are a little thin at forward since Judd Caulfield (personal) is also out, but Nikita Klepov will draw in on the third line in Malott's absence. It's unclear if Malott will feel well enough to play Saturday in Philadelphia.

  • Ducks' Pavel Mintyukov: Out for rest of road trip

Mintyukov (lower body) returned to Anaheim on Thursday and won't play for the last two games of the road trip.

Mintyukov will miss Thursday's game versus the Devils and Saturday's contests against the Flyers. The 22-year-old defenseman is day-to-day beyond that. Tristan Luneau will take over for Mintyukov in a bottom-four role.

  • Egor Chinakhov RW | PIT

Penguins' Egor Chinakhov: Sidelined once again

Chinakhov (lower body) won't play Thursday versus the Panthers.

Chinakhov will sit out for the third time in four games due to a nagging lower-body issue. Rutger McGroarty is up from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and will be in the lineup Thursday to replenish the Penguins' depth. Chinakhov's status is day-to-day, making him questionable for Saturday versus the Predators.

  • Maple Leafs' Marshall Rifai: Expected to miss Thursday's game

Rifai (undisclosed) is expected to miss Thursday's game against the Rangers, according to Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun.

Rifai was previously considered a game-time call due to the injury. He has a goal in two appearances this campaign. Nick Blankenburg might draw into the lineup due to Rifai's absence.

  • Judd Caulfield RW | ANA

Ducks' Judd Caulfield: Out Thursday; on non-roster list

Caulfield (personal) remains in Southern California and won't play Thursday versus the Devils, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports. Per the NHL media site, Caulfield has also been designated a non-roster player.

Caulfield will remain with his family for a while longer after leaving the Ducks' road trip for the birth of his child. At this point, it seems doubtful he'll be available for Saturday's game versus the Flyers, but he could be back in action Tuesday versus the Canucks once the Ducks have returned home.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Slated starter Thursday

Annunen is expected to play on the road against Boston on Thursday, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.

Annunen is gearing up for his first appearance of the 2026-27 campaign. He had a 10-12-2 record, 2.68 GAA and .906 save percentage in 28 regular-season outings with Nashville during 2025-26. Boston has dominated the early portion of the campaign, going 7-2-1 while averaging 3.60 goals per game.
