LSU's Ben Simmons is expected to be selected No. 1 overall by the Philadelphia 76ers but that won't become official until the NBA Draft in two weeks. But one thing that is already official about Simmons' impending rookie season are the sneakers he will be wearing.

Making the announcement himself, Simmons revealed in a video for Uninterrupted that he has signed a deal with Nike:

Simmons picking Nike is not that big of a surprise though. Klutch Sports represents Simmons and basically all of their clients, like LeBron James, have deals with Nike.

Simmons had been courted by Nike and Adidas for quite some time and he was basically playing both sneaker companies against each other to see who would offer him the most money. Nike reportedly first offered Simmons a $7.5 million, five-year deal. Simmons wanted to wait until after the Draft Lottery before signing a deal. And it seems like waiting has paid off for Simmons as The Vertical's Shams Charania reports that the Australian forward has signed "one of the largest rookie deals for Nike."

Now it is up to Simmons to prove to Nike that he is well worth the investment with his play on the court next season and in future seasons. They will take care of his marketing, Simmons just has to do the rest.
